The Russian Republic welcomes continued peace with their Japanese neighbors. We will respect your commercial rights, as Russia is a firm believer in free trade, unlike Britain, which wishes to infringe on the sovereignty of all nations by limiting their access to global markets by force.
Russia also desires peace with all nations, but we have been attacked, and blind aggression cannot be tolerated in modern society.

The United States wishes to remind France that it MUST accept the American territorial claims. If you make ANY moves that Congress deems are moves to establish colonial influences in the Americas, you shall be forced to accept our claims. This has been your second warning. Remember that you have no support from your allies on this matter and that the United States of America can easily force you to comply.

Actually it looks like the utility was asking for my password in the savegame, since it asked before I ever selected the civdip file. Lo and behold, my password in the savegame didn't work.
Forget it, this damn thing has more bugs than a dead mule. Either you take Belgrade conventionally and we resign the alliance, or I keep it (although I don't really want it). A third option could be doing a live game with someone else taking my civ, since my firewall's making it impossible, but that'd be quite a hassle for a 5-citizen, no-improvement city.

Use the attached savegame; I've already finished and ctrl-n'ed it. Then email it to me after the transfer and I'll post as normal.

Germany Mobilizes!
No action was taken against the barbarians this turn, but the Republic's treasury has been invested in massive remilitarization projects, the fruits of which should be seen in a few months.
Trade Flourishes With the Neutrals
Meanwhile, the supposedly omnipotent Royal Navy has not slowed German trade, as gold from Nuremberg and Oil from Berlin have arrived in New York, and Tools from Prague have arrived safely in San Juan, hopefully fostering the reconstruction of the recently battle-scarred port. The routes were extremely profitable, nearly half a dozen other trade convoys are still en route to their destinations, and the revenues will continue to fuel the war effort.
Ministry of Propaganda Created, War Bonds on Sale
To drum up support for what will undoubtedly be a long struggle, the Reichstag has alloted funds to a Ministry of Propaganda. Its founding was touched off by a campaign promoting German war bonds. Neutral governments businesses are encouraged to loan money to the Republic for its struggle against the British bootheel, and we guarantee a 125% return upon the end of the war.
Support our men in grey, tear down England's schemes! Buy war bonds!

Carribean Secured!
the fall of Haiti, made official by the captued of Port-au-Prince, has eliminated Independent flags from the Carribnean Sea. The American cannons that entered the city accepted the full surrender of Haiti's government and armed forces.
Trade Continues
Coal has arrived in Birmingham yielding a nice profit, while Detroit Tools have arrived in Nantes, giving the United States over 2000 gold in profit! The United States continues to look forward to profitable trade with its neighbours.
The United States wishes to know why a Russian Steam Warship continues to blockade the Dardanelles and trap an American ship there. We have asked repeatedly and were told it is safe for our vessel to leave, only to find out that the Dardanelles are still blocked.
The American steam frigate near the Panama Canal has withdrawn to Panama City in order to allow ships to once again use the canal for trade. However, a Japanese steam frigate with cargo sppears to be heading for the canal. The United States wants to know why Japan has begun using warships to escort its cargo as opposed to trade ships. All nations are to please keep their warships away from the canal.

I'm sure that the ship simply ran out of movement value after the intense naval battle there, or he would have moved it.

The Japanese Empire apologises for the use of warships in the transport of trade goods, but we had to resort as last measure due to the increment in our overseas trade has by far outstepped our shipbuilding abilities.
The situation will be ammended shortly.

After some serious thinking I have now decided to initiate peace talks. This war will be a long and costly war for all of us if we choose to continue fighting. I am willing to give up Baghdad to a German interim government, in return I want a peace agreement with all nations. As a gesture of goodwill Britain will send a gift of 500 gold to France, Russia and Germany to cover war damges. We will also lift the trade embargo immidiately.
So, what do you guys say?

No need for gold, all I wanted was peace in the first place. We seem to have inflicted almost as much damage as you have, so southern Iraq would be more than enough payment for the difference. If Russia or France have any minor demands let them speak now.

"Southern Iraq" as written includes Kuwait. We have no problem with your claim to Kandahar, unless Rusia does.
