Britain: a German force has landed north of Damascus. Note that it is en route to Kuwait as Damascus is in your mandate.

War Explodes in the Americas!
Following a Mexican cannon build up in northern Mexico over the past few months, the United States government has decided to take action against the independents and has struck the Mexicans at Tampico, effecitvely occupying the Mexican provinces of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas. A Brazilian Steam Warship was sunk in a naval battle with American steam warships and gunboats off the coast of Haiti. The United States navy only lost one gunboat in the battle. A cease-fire was signed with the Independents following the fall of Tampico.
In the Mediterranean, American forces began a massive bombardment of the Sicilian ccapital of Messina. The United States warns all European nations that it intends to occupy Messina and Sicily so do not interfere.
In addition to the war, American forces landed near Djibuti in East Africa in preparations for an assault on the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. These troops are only passing by the French city to get to Ethiopia and Somalia and will pose no threat to the French colony there. The United States senate is willing to consider removing the trade embargo against France once the disputed territories a re firmly under American control.

Russia:
Please, remove your steam warship from 155,85.
Your vessel is blocking the Suez Channel.
Germany:
You can take Baghdad. Give me one more turn to empty Beirut.

We apologize for any trouble our ship caused, we will be more careful in the future. Also, now that Kandahar has been conquered will you be emptying out Kabul for Russian forces as per our treaty?
Germany: We noticed your labor forces building railways in our territory...Thanks Saves us some work

I'm still extremely confused: you already HAVE Beirut, and Damascus is going to you. I said in my own post that the units by Damascus were en route to Kuwait so you wouldn't have to worry.

Messina Surrenders to American Forces!
Triumphant American field artillery divisions entered Messina this month after a continuous bombardment against the city. An attempt by a steamer carrying Sicilian government officials to escape from the fighting was futile as American forces relentlessly pounded sections of the area. This month cleanup operations began as American forces received the full surrender of the island's armed forces, bringing it into the American sphere of control.
Finally, American forces are poised north of Addis Ababa for a strike on the Ethiopian capital. As American field artillery moved through French Djibuti toward Addis Ababa, no real resistance moved to oppose them, leading American commanders to believe that the bulk of Ethiopia's forces lay in the capital, awaiting the American attack.
Other than that, it has generally been going well in the United States. (I forgot to mention that the Diplomatic Corps was completed in Washington DC last month).

The Cynical Age of Existentialism begins in the Russian city of Warsaw! Great Russian thinkers articulate the moral ambiguities of Imperialistic expansion. A 'Romantic' response begins.
I was waiting for FiGu to return my PM, but I'll go ahead and post

Emperor Meiji Announced Modernisation of Japan
Tokyo.- Emperor Meiji Mutsuhito held a State dinner last week to which ambassadors from all great powers were invited where the Emperor announced that the crash industrialisation program was complete. Spurred by trade since the end of the Shogunate and the opening up of commerce to the west, Japan has found great profit and, in a bid to seek Regional Power recognition, the Emperor announced himself as the 'Protector of the Asian Peoples' in a bid to make clear Japan's Manifest Destiny to the Asian continent.
Japanese growth in the past years has been in great bounds, and Meiji plans a great reform of the army and navy in the coming years, also spurned with new technologies brought back from the west by Japanese engineers, scientists and scholars.
