To summarize my positions:
I am, by nature, a builder. I love huge, culture rich empires. However, despite this, I strongly believe that an early war is an important for a beginning nation's development. The exact way this war will be carried out depends on our civ, but I will emphasive both offensive and defensive units early on, in addition to building settlers at every opportunity and after a couple of cities, some workers. After our early war(s), I will emphasize city infrastructure, especially cultural buildings for cultural take overs, early culture bonuses and because diplomacy is smoother when your ciov has a high culture rating. This is my platform.

despite our disagreements about having a constitution, game-wise my ideas are very similar to those of punk so he gets my vote

Oh yes, very much so.
M&M's, too.
Especially if we're Roman.

Finally,
A poll where I don't have to feel bad about voting against the banana... however, 2 excellent candidates with similar styles - I'm hoping that you both get the opportunity to fill your boots in this post at some point, but for now.....
oh yeah... any statements concerning whipping?
always? never? only during war?
This isn't a vote deciding issue for me - just interested.

I support poprushing in a reasonable way. Reasonable means, that it shall not hinder the growth of the city to it's limit due to needed entertainers. And it has to be limited to 1 citizen, because a second would double his time of unhappiness. So, probably poprushing a Temple (with 1 citizen loss) is fine, rushing a spearman too, if the city is getting attacked, but rushing a knight at once would be far too much.

I support whipping to an extent. Typically only with buildings, requiring one (maybe two, in extreme circumstances). Also for defensive units in a city that is threatened.

Sir Ralph got the vote because he comes down to the CTP2 forum and talks with us.

Posting a lot isn't spamming. It shows that you participate a lot. He posts a lot. You don't. Therefore, he participates more than you do. If he participates more than you do, he is probably a better candidate for a Cabinet position. He is probably a better candidate for a Cabinet position. See? I learned that last year in geometry.

Sure, one who spends his time posting must be better than one spending his time playing this game and practising.

SirRalph :
I fear I'm losing the respect I had for you. Your polemic tone makes me feel uncomfortable. It doesn't appear you are a man of dialogue, which is needed in teamwork. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm sorry to disappoint you with my tone. I was just responding with not much words to an in mine eyes irrelevant attempt to encourage people to vote by postcounts per thread instead of competence. Which doesn't mean that I find my competitor incompetent.

Does this mean I won? If so, I invite Sir Ralph to be my deputy, if he is so inclined. I don't know if that's what happens anyway (have really decided that? I know at CFC the runner-up is the automatic deputy), but if it's not like that, I would be honoured to have him serve with me.

You have won when this poll is closed in a few hours and you still have more than 50%. Let's look how close I can come. Btw, thanks people .

I guess that's now. My previous question was in reference to the fact that it had been 'de-topped' for some reason. The current vote is 35-26 for me, though the poll has not been closed, yet. (It's 2am, GMT).
