I don't know Felch. To me it sounds more like a description of team work.

Fascio (or a similar derivation words) is Italian for "bunch together" or "bundle".
Meant in the fashion as described by frankychan, a bundled axe, a fascista (?) was the symbol adopted by Mussolini for his movement

My old tagline was Per Ardua ad Astra which is the RCAF motto that means "Through adversity to the stars." It's a reminder that success requires hard work.
My latest tagline is a paraphrase of a Lao Tzu quote that reminds us that you can't learn everything from a book. You need to experience life to understand it. And advice is often meaningless because what you experience as you walk the path of life will be different from what others experiece.

The first part of my sig comes from one of the first "discussions" I had here. I got tired of explaining to some "bright lads" that it was my opinion without constantly writing "IMO".
The second part is an ancient Assyrian saying that I stumbled across while lost (drunk) in the negev desert. I've taken it to heart and live by its meaning.
"Dont eat yellow snow"
Of course my translation could be incorrect - who the hell speaks Assyrian?

Correct SD, I was refering to the fasces or bundle of sticks that in Ancient Rome were symbols of government authority and the strength that comes from unity. They were used by the modern Fascists for the name of their movement.

The first one is a quotation from Shylock's monologue in Act III, Scene 1 of The Merchant of Venice.
The second was by our very own JohnIII, in a thread about time travel we had recently (should be on page 3 or thereabouts). Just struck me as funny.

"Tout comprendre, c'est tout pardonner." is a quote from Tolstoy's ' War and Peace'. For those who don't understand French (like me!) it means "To understand all, is to forgive all." A perfect synopsis of my personal philosophy.
I've been thinking about changing it to a quote from Robert M. Pirsig's ' Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' after reading the book again recently. It reads "When you've got a Chautauqua in your head, it's extremely hard not to inflict in on innocent people." A quote that seems quite fitting for what goes on here at the OT message board.

Heidegger was a german philosopher who helped legitimize the nazi movement.
I have yet to find anything to beat it in pure ironic glory.

The first part comes from Empress when she was here she dubbed me the Apolyton Princess since she was the Empress and it just stuck. The quote from Mr. Heinlein (one of my favorite authors) is fairly self explanitory. It should be the blueprint by which men live their lives
The quote regarding penises comes from Orange. It orginated during a conversation we were having and I thought it quite appropriate for this board. Besides Ming wanted me to get rid of "This sucks big green donkey testicles" so I did

Line one was in a sermon our Dean preached. I forget the original speaker.
Line two is a link associated with my avatar, and as I have had pointed out is incorrect. Unfortunately, I have yet to be given a correct version.
Line three yields a prize of exceedingly small (nonexistant) nature to the first person to post the source. Preferably without referring to a search engine.

I think you guys are warping my sig into something that its not attended (and has no basis) or relationg to.
My sig means (to me) that if we all cooperate, there's nothing we can't do.
But it seems like some ppl think im a fascist. oh well...
