allies-record
I have to claim a new allies record: In one of my last game (deity, 7 civs, raging) I managed to get 5 allies ...Only the Greek insisted in havíng war with me. They were the 2nd most powerful nation (I was the most powerful) and had war with all other civs.
Anybody more?
By the way, is it possible to make all other civs allies?

As long as you are Pathetic (Weak?) itis possible to achieve alliances with all six other civs - this has been done quite frequently in OCC

I was the strongest, the most powerful civ, but peaceful.

Once you become Supreme the accepted wisdom is that you can obtain only one alliance -- are you saying you got more actually whilst supreme - this would be new - or that you got the alliances early (when you might have been Weak or Pathetic) and kept them - which I had assumed ?

It was in the late game, in the industrial age, about 1860. The Greek threatened all other civs. They sat on a huge continent. Their neighbours -
West:the Persians, Egyptians
East: the French
Southeast: My Romans
Southwest: the Babylonians and Indians
(there was an empire split in the Babylonian empire, the Indians had their origin in a civil disorder).
All my allies had common borders with the Greek and lost at least one city to the Greek. Maybe that's the point.
The Indians became my allies when I gave them the secret of space flight. The French had been allies since I met them early in the game, all the others asked me to help them.

What version of the game do you use? I use ToT and even in OCC getting more than one or 2 allies is usually a nightmare (as they keep asking me to go to war with the others and will break alliance if I don't).

Wow, that is rare. That's one of the reasons I choose the Orange civ, because the Greeks are a real pain in the arse. It was the same with Civ (except the sixth color was hot pink).

It's not a new record. Plenty of people have hade this many alliances.

Yes, Thoddy is right. But I've got them all:
CIV1, CIV2, CIV3, MGE, TOT, FREECIV, CTP ....
