first of all, it's editor, not designer. news is not fashion

second, i've been asking for several days now for someone to produce an informative text updating the millions of civers out there about the status of the game. the way we do jrabbit does for the civ2 game. i guess civ2 still rules...

What you really need is an organised way of releasing newspapers every so often, maybe once a week or twice a week.

You would need a info gatherer - Someone who knows their way around on the forums and knows the people.

You would need a writer - someone who can write well and has humor.

A publisher - someone to put it all together.

and maybe even an artist to get the graphics or drawings for various articles.

Also you could have things like Latest Poll results on something that was important. You could have people write their own articles giving their opinion on some topic that was in previous newspapers and etc.

but one thing that is important is that it must look and act like a newspaper about the Apolyton, Civ (and maybe other games) community.

Sirotnikov has all the above , however , asking a daily paper might be a bit to much , maybe some people should work together , ...

then again ; the size of what it is now is good also , everything there , short , not dull , reads nice , in other words "perfect" , .... maybe we have to keep it this way , ...

Well, why not just update the headlines with stuff like:
"The second issue of Apolyton Times is out >click here<"
or "The first chapter of our history is out >click here<"

The thing is, from what I understand, you want a short synopsis. I don't get why would any one really want that? Either he's play, in which case he's interested in reading the newspaper.. or he isn't playing, and in that case he could probably care less.

I imagine me going to read a short news thing:
"We have just democratically decided to research Literature cause the Great Library is great."
..
Whoopee my butt.
It's not interesting to follow a Civ game from afar. It's like watching your friend playing Civ alone. It's much more fun to actually talk to him, see what he's thinking etc. etc.

If someone really cares about the game, he should either follow the newspapers, which have tons of details and are all funny and stuff, or read the chapters written by the Historian.

At least that my POV.

Dear Editor,

I would like to express my opinion that the Apolytonian people would be much better served by a single newspaper, giving them one unified source for their news. This way they would not have to keep checking in several places for news. Also, with several editors the newspaper would be updated far more often, heightening our reading experience.

I would like to point out that one newspaper with several editors also gives more views.

Hmm...

I agree with MH.

The Times is kinda long and takes several hours to make.

The Apolytonian could be the usual edition.

And the weekend edition would be Apolytonian Times.

And both MH and Myself edit the Apolytonian.
