Nice to see someone who's still going strong with Moo2!

Hahaha!
Ok, don't worry Mark, I'll try to find out who's responsible for this infamy!
If he still lurks at Kali that is...

Has anyone of you tried that version 1.32?
Is it any good? I looked at some of the changes (especially the pick-costs), and they seemed bad. The races become too powerful IMHO...

I don't like it. IMO it's quite unbalanced. Take Tolerant for example. With 11 picks there are no more silicoids!

I will propably not get around to trying it, but I think it is great that it was put together. I have several new games that I have yet to play, so I can not spare the time to relearn Moo2.

In my experience, Moo/Moo2 do not to be relearned to be enjoyable...

I'll give it a try.
Vmxa1, shame on you, like you have minimal gaming time??
I'm lucky if I can squeeze in a few(4-5) hours a week.

Ok, Ok, you got me. I did not mean I do not have any free time, I meant I was using my gaming time already.
I took a quick look at the 1.32 and many things are tweaked. You are correct, you do not have to relearn it. You would want to spent time checking the changes. I suppost you could just go at as if it was exactly the same, but you would not be taking full advantage of any distinctions. I can see coming back to it in a few months when I have finished Aow2 and Yuri's revenge. Two games I have, but have not played so far. I have Disciples 2, Homm4 that I finished the campaigns, but not the scenarios. I still have Diablo2, that I have to take to Hell mode at some point (just for look).

Well, I know. I'm really enjoying AoW2 right now. Without RMG, it won't last, but as long as there are still unplayed maps, it's a blast.

RMG??
I've seen it here in the states for 30$. Makes me wonder about it since it started soooo cheap compared to others. Can't say that AoW1 kept my interest. Seemed like the same thing over and again.

RMG I guess it Random Map Generator. Not bad, but if they have an editorto create new maps, that is enough. I rarely use randam maps or skirmish, too hemogenous.

Random maps for a game such as AoW is rather silly. It might work for SMAC or Civ, but not all games are that way.

UR: I disagree. I think RMGs are possible even for games where terrain can be a obstacle. Sure, it takes a lot of work to do it right, but I think it's worth it.
The one reason I don't think AoW2 is going to repalce MOM is that there ain't no RMG.

I am running on XP PRO with no updates, straight out of the box. I have a Radeon 8500 cards and the sound is on the motherboard. Every game I have tried works fine, except Ascendancy. It runs, but the mouse is very jerky. You can play, but the mouse moves very slowly? Moo works and even has sound again. Moo2 is at 1.31, the only problem I have had with is with a few saved games I found on the web and I corrected them with the editor. I had crashes in Moo2 in Windows 95 and 98. I think it is the Win95 version, the box says Dos and Win95. If you are having problems two places to go: 1) Microsoft has a page with compat issue and a tool you can download that will run throught all the modes. 2) ntcompatible, it has threads on games and issues in NT/Xp.

Maybe it's possible.
MoM was designed to play on random maps, Aow 2 isn't. So you are asking a program to subsitute for human intelligence when generating a map, doing all the balancing and stuff.
The chance is very slim.
Doesn't AoW 2 come with a nifty editor?

A fan mod wow. It's always good to see the fans are often care more for the game than the designer did. After some years they abandon their game completely and only promote their newer ones it's a shame but thank goodness the brave fans are here and keeping great great games like MOO (and of course 2) alive.
