As long as the Imperialists hold both branches of the executive office, you still can't do much.

This statement is the exact reason why our party has been formed. Your power needy party will be put in its proper place after the second term elections. We will do what we can now, but you can bet we will be putting up a VP and Prez for office next term.
The utter disrespect that we see from your party towards the people should end as soon as possible.
Keep in mind, this whole issue is not entirely about ideals. It is about letting the people determine our nations course, whatever that course may be.
People of all opinions on expansion are encouraged to support our party, because although the DIA may have their personal opinion on how our nation should progress, we will not dogmatically pursue and enforce these ideals upon others as some here have done. Rather, we are determined to listen to all the people, even ones who’s arguments clash violently with ours, and we will take action that best represents the peoples resolve.

you have 6 of the 9 elected officials in the DIA.
66.67% of the elected officials in one party.

IMHO, the executive branch is less powerful that the CTED / Science / Foriegn posts.
combind they can become corrupt, and hinder our people's plands / wills.

No, you're just full of crap.
The president public votes on what the views of the people are? What do you think Science Dept. and the CTED do? We sponser (and follow) more votes than you currently want to admit.
Tassadar is maintaining a poll right now, in fact. And here are the current results now.....
Iron Working (Swordsmen) 5 9.26%
Alphabet (Required for Mathematics and Writing) 16 29.63%
Pottery (Granaries) (Required for Map Making) 5 9.26%
The Wheel (War Chariot) (Required for Horseback Riding) 14 25.93%
Warrior Code (Archers) (Required for Horseback Riding, Monarchy) 4 7.41%
Mysticism (The Oracle) (Required for Polytheism) 0 0%
Banana (Abstain) 10 18.52%
I don't see the majority agreeing with you here about going for the wheel, do you? And alot of them (10) would just rather be eating bananas then watching us throw them at each other.

Panag :
What civman posted is an internal document, about what candidaites the party should present. Knowing who're the party candidates is the matter of the party only.
Knowing who will actually be the next ministers is the matter of all Apolytonians. As a democractic party, we're aware of this.

hi ,
, nothing democratic , .....
the party alone should not be the one to decide on who a candidate should be , .....
the party as nothing to say as to whom should be the next one , .... this is undemocratic , ...
any should be able to give him or her self up , then after a day or two , when all the taking of candidates is stopped , there should be a poll , as to whom of the candidates should be one , ...
have a nice day

I was naturally talking about the candidates Of the party.
Everyone who wants to run for a post can do so, and we are happy it is so, because we consider democracy as our highest force.
But who's the candidate of the party to these posts is the matter of the party.
The ones who will decide what candidate wins the post are the people of Apolytonia, it is obvious to us.
Panag do you consider the nationalists should decide at our place who our candidate should be ?

I would like to join the DIA... In spirit. For now I'd rather be unaligned.

I would like to join a party where Democracy is people. It sounds like most of what you have posted. I am tired of having to vote poll after poll after poll for an issue the first poll decided, but someone felt the result was not what they wanted. So, more polls until the result was what they wanted.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind voting, but I do mind when the first poll wins, and one or more polls are put out to override the will of the people, citing some lame excuse as to why another poll on that issue is needed.

Kring,
Thank you for post. I must agree that this is annoying indeed, and shows that democracy will only work if you want it to work. I think alot of these problems will be reduced once we do get (and ammend/adjust) some polling standards. The DIA party will do its best to speed along these reforms, but more important, make them effective.
Welcome to the party.
