I had a look over the save, and noted the date and there's a simple answer. You're not growing fast enough. By 680 AD, you should have covered that entire island with cities and have settlers in galleys looking for more land.
Growth, growth, growth. It's the 2nd 'x' in 4x, 'expansion'.
It's generally a good idea when you have an island to settle the coast first and fill the middle after. Also, avoid trading maps if at all possible. Technically, the AI already knows what the map looks like and where 'all' resources are, but it still needs your map to be able to send settlers.

Hi Hazie,
it's me again...
I had a look at your savegame. Don't worry, the Chinese are (at least now) friendly.
The diplo screen looks as if you haven't used it yet. Shift-Right-click on the circles and pick a civ to be placed there. Why don't you sell them something? They might want to buy some wines. The Greeks have some silk to sell, btw.
Establish good trading with your neighbours, the will stay friendly that way.
And as long as they build in the jungle and your culture is higher than theirs, they are no thread to you.
If you want you can establish embassies, that's good for good relationships, too. You can get alliances or RoP, if you have an embassy.
You're doing well, so keep on doing it.

Qilue,
your right, I didn't notice the date. So Hazie, expansion is something you could work on.
One more tip: if you turn of the animations in the preferences, the game will be faster.

I'm beginning to wipe out the jungle and my citys are starting to surround theirs!
I cant wait till later in the game, when a platoon of tanks will be able to sweep down that thin bit of french land!
