Is it me, or does voting in number 4 make you a number 3?

Actually, voting number 3 or 4 makes you a 2.

Option 1, more voting than posting.
Since I'm in vacation mode, I can have trouble expressing thoughts longer than a few sentences coherently.
And wouldn't voting for 3 or 4 contradict yourself?
Edit: Damn, beaten to it

Not here-- 11:30 AM
And I woke up a 7 AM. No excuse for being this un-awake right now, in my case.

This poll only needs the option YES. If you were not participating you would not be voting therefore the number of people in the game - the number of people who vote here = approx. the number participating in the game.

...only we can't post a poll with only one option.
Maybe two options, both "Yes"!
And what about the people who post, but never vote?

I will always vote, but don't assume that if you don't hear from me, I am not here. I post as much as possible, which is not much.

I did a poll like that. It was "Do you vote in polls?". "Yes" beat "Yes".

this poll is up for 7 days to show how much participation we can expect during one week. a longer time would not make sense, as people maybe leave again during this time, but still voted yes. then we would have errorous statistics.
maybe it would be a good idea to post this poll every month to baseline active citizen-count?

Well let's see. We have ~170 or so members now, and 38 have responded? Geeze, that rate of participation is awful.

every x months we should have 'resignups' to get rid of people who dont participate. why have a long list of people when only a third of them take part?

Seems right to me ... in the democratic republic of the US, 30-40% voter participation is unfortunatlly typical.

i dont think people will be much more active in the fall. at least some apolytonians including myself will be much less active, because of school, and the time it takes up.
is there some point to writing 'have a nice day' in every post. at least put it in you sig.

I vote and post. The problem I have noticed is that polls can get old real quick when you revote an issue a number of times; city naming comes to mind.
Also, it would be nice to sticky note the polls to the top of the page, or even have a sub folder for them. Since it can be hard to find them. The original current polls was a good start, but it needs editing to include all currently active polls on the first post. Discussing what to include in a poll before launching it would also help, since this tends to lead to later polls if not well thought out first. Again, this would need either sticky noted to top or have a post going that is sticky noted with the appropriate info in the first post.

another proposal for the census:
i would volunteer as census officer to post a active-citizen poll like this one on the 1st of every month. we will then have a monthly overview of participation, independant of our memberlist.
maybe even a weekly poll on mondays up for 5 days would be good?
this would give us a detailed picture of participation without having the "clutter" of electional participation (yes, some citizens come here only to vote in the elections).
we could then do a detailed graphical stat of it.
how could i request a poll being sticky? pm the mod? or is there a better way to do this?

I prefer the monthly poll over the weekly one. I fear some people (among the less active) won't notice the poll is new, and won't vote in it again. Plus, a weekly poll like this will participate to the poll saturation.

hi ,
if they want they can check if they have voted yes or no , when you come back next day or week , ...
you cant vote twice , and you are shown the results , ....
weekly is the best , .....
other wise we are still going to be "working & building" in five years , ...
have a nice day

It would be nice to get a notice of a new poll. I have tried looking at all the new posts, but a poll can get booted down the list quite a ways sometimes, and it could easily get missed.

since the poll will be there in a schedule with week-number in the topic, it will be easy to determine the new one ;-) its there on mondays. the other one will be closed over the weekend. so if you notice a open census-poll during the week, its the one you did not vote on.
i still try to find out wheter we can get the poll sticky. do i have to pm a mod?
