Form of Government After Espionage is discovered
There are advantages to several forms of government for our assaults on the remaining civs.
We are currently Communist, which balances tech research and production, and eliminates corruption and nearly all unhappiness.
Some are suggesting Fundamentalism, for it's militaristic advantages and gold-accumulating tithes.
Some are pleading for Democracy, for the high research and productivity, and a possible run for Alpha Centuri.
All options are available, since we have the Statue of Liberty and can change at will. Consider the consequences, and vote!

As science advisor I must oppose the push towards Fundamentalism. Should we take this transitional step, our civilization will be plunged into a new dark age, our scholars persecuted by the ruling elite. By remaining in communism, we will allow innovation to flourish and gain an even greater technological edge than our enemies.

I see the military lobbies are here in strength...
Makes me wonder where is the majority that voted right at the beginning of the game taht we would be a peaceful civilization and would win the game by reaching AC!

Fundamentalism would be madness (well it usually is in itself). It would mean the end of our rapid development. As it is now we can work on fine and eliminate our enemies in a good pace. Why risk this for a short period of military advantage before our enemies get a technical edge?

Communism gives us veteran spies!
Fundamentalism makes the game too easy. Commie until we are mopping up the last AI cities, then switch to democracy to make the masses happy and boost our score!

Just to be clear, we build the vet spy army Before The Switch. Rushbuild = yes.
Once we have a few dozen commie spies, then we switch to Fundy and build many cavalry.
Then we win big.

Hmmm, looks like the supporters of a Communist government (at least for now) have suddenly made their presence known.

A vote for Democracy would be wasted, so I'm voting Communist to stop the Fundamentalists getting into power..

our goal is to conquer the world, with our current tech level and the opposing civs tech level, it should be easy, but only if we have plenty of units. fundy lets us to do that. communism makes it harder to support many units. however, under communism we could research techs that we don't need to conquer the world, so what's the point?

Because we aren't going to conquer the world in the next couple of turns? Because they will catch up in technology? Because the AI will adjust the rate of production and tech advance to reduce or eliminate our current advantage?
We have to run fast just to stay ahead. The AI is merciless at Deity level games, and settling comfortably into a role of fighting from here on out with our current units will be punished. The AI is not there to play fairly; the AI is there to assure, by hook or crook, that we have a fight on our hands.
Case in point: Babylon has 2 of the top 5 cities. They are in WLTxDay mode. There is no justification for them to be that way, but the AI needed that to strengthen the Bab situation. Yes, it's cheating and artificial, but that's what it does. It will give the enemy civs whatever techs it needs to give them the units it needs to make life harder for us. Babylon went from a size 8 city to a size 12 city in 2 turns. Think about that...
We are probably going to need artillery and tanks by the time this is over. Even with Spies and Cavalry, we ar not going to be able to conquer all the cities before they advance in defensive units, build walls, and maybe even get Spies of their own to thwart us.
We must both build units and advance in techs, or we won't win this game.
And I would be delighted to be wrong.

If we did not have such a competent nomminee for president such as MrWIA then I would consider it but I think he with a little help from his friends will get the job done.
