Well, it should be that...the poll is near ending and indicates 10% science 90% money very strongly

Just to get everyone's spirits up, I have a little picture I'd like to show you all. Yellow = us, Apolytonia. Blue = America. Pink = France. Red = Jungle. That has to be the biggest jungle I've ever seen before, no doubt. And it goes off far to the east as well.

We know that we're mroe technologically advanced than them, and we know they hail from south of the Great Rift. That's about all we know for now. As Ninot to make a thread for more details.

Trip: According to the Case Pink plan, we should build another warrior in Banana HQ before switching to settler, in order to produce a defender for the Red City. This saves about 5 turns the Red City would take to produce the garrison itself.

Great job, Trip.
So what's the current plan right now? Attack the French or Americans? Or both!?
Sorry I've been away for a while, and I don't have much time to go looking through a bunch of threads.

Sir Ralph,
I think the 2 warriors have been built at BanHQ. The first is off exploring. The second must be the garrison for BanHQ. I'm not sure of the total impact on DDay. Apolyton's build que will be accelerated by the garrison keeping a third pop working. Unfortunately, I didn't post recalculations with garrisons keeping Apolyton producing at 3 pop.
However, the plan is not necessarily totally off. One of the first units built at Apolyton can move to garrison Red City. That will still result in acceleration for both Red city and Apolyton. DDay moved up to about 53 or 54 turns. I'm guessing.
Trip may have anticipated doing something else though.

OK. I downloaded the save. I guess I had to.
One question for Trip and Eli. Why are Workers wasting moves?
A worker moves into a grassland square. Then moves again to another square. The first square needs a road. Why not build it the first time through? It just wastes another turn moving back into the first grassland square without a road. And delays the founding of Red City by another turn as the settler crosses a non roaded square on the way to the site.
Also, Banana HQ has a cleared tile. Why not mine it and road it before moving on? Again, another turn lost moving back into the square to commence finishing it.
One last nit. BanHQ is working the unimproved grass. OK. It will grow in 2. The warrior is 3 turns away. Thus there will be 1 specialist for 1 turn. But, if we were still on the sea tile the city would grow in 3 and the warrior would be complete in 3... and we'd net 3 extra gold in the meantime.
Just little things. Maybe you have good reasons for doing these things. May I ask about them?

This is important stuff NYE as this is the kind of thing that makes the difference between winning and losing.
The BHQ worker should have built a mine on the cleared grassland. It would have only taken 3 turns and would have doubled BHQ's production.

the grassland was a decision made in the turncaht...he didnt say it was only a difference of 1 turn until growing, i think that made the difference

Untapped dyes were found to the east.
Any plans to build a colony there in the not too distance future?
If a worker set of now it would probably tale about 40 turns and he'd need a defender but I can't see anyother source of luxuries untill we attack the Americans.
But perhaps we need all of our workers at home and can survive by pop rushing and settler building.
Just a suggestion.

My games have taught me that there is always huge lands on either side of a large span of mountains.
There's no doubt in my mind there is either 1 or more civs on the other side of those mountains. And I think the mountains will be great for defence.
French we must get rid of, the Americans I have a feeling we'll be getting rid of aswell because it seems the only way we're gonna get big and powerful is if we control that entire area - where the French and
Americans sit. I've had bad experience having a squashed territory. Which is probably what will happen if we let the Americans grow.

Realize, in 50+ turns both the franch and americans will both probably be building cities close to or in the jungle toward us. If each civ has 5-8 cities at the time we are ready to attack, we had better be able to destroy 1 or 2, and capture at least 2 including the capitol. The capitol is our first objective unless there is a chance of catching some slaves.
When the computer places cities, it looks for the long term best locations. France may well place a city near the mouth of the river in the jungle. Be prepair to go around it or smash thrue it. Only 6 archers will be able to make up our initial strike force. We must have a road to get reinforcements to the front quickly. It appears we are on a continent with several if not the majority of the other civs. Good in that we have early trade partners, bad in that we must force our expansion instead of letting it happen. Just my rambling and somethings to thing about.
Good pics trip. Thanks.

May I join this game of Democracy? I know it's a little late, but I regreted not joining the Civ2 one, and no point in making the same mistake twice.

we must have overloaded the amount of visitors or the amount of bandwidth allowed per month (its probably the bandwidth, it sounds like you have lots of images). I don't know the restrictions allowed at geocities, but if you are too big, busy, or have too many images, you may continue to get locked.

Thanks for setting up the site, Trip. We really needed an central update location. Now, if the other ministers could set up pages of their own, with cross-links, we'd have the rudiments of a powerful information architecture.
I have especially appreciated the reports from Uber and Ninot.
Nice work, guys. Your efforts are really bringing this game to life.

It's still under construction, of course, so I've been updating it constantly all day. I'm almost ready for a big update, just have to tweak things, and look for bugs.
