I managed to kill Bonzai Buddy - if I remember how I'll let you know. I think chemical weapons were involved.
Sooner or later someone is going to take a law suit out against one of those companies.

that'll be cookies that sites like doubleclick.net and valueclick.net use to track your surfing habits, even though you don't visit their websites. But you can block these cookies in IE by going to Tools > Options > Security

IE 6 has the nice Privacy tab there, too. I hate doubleclick.net, of course, and have it added to all the possible restrict lists I got.
I used to use banner killing software till I got cable - they no longer affected load times in a noticeable way, and Apolyton gets cash, too .

Do i include url or not? More info please, this could be very handy

deleting the cookie, even with ad-aware doesn't work because it just keeps coming back. Just go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Edit, type the address of the website in the box and click block. You don't need the full URL, so typing in doubleclick.net works just as well as typing in http://www.doubleclick.net.

hi ,
why does the cookie come back , ...
bacause there is still some software that makes the cookie on your comp , two options , one delete the cookie with cyberscub , this way its even deleted in the program on the comp , or find the program and run cyberscub .
however if it does come back then , look for a source outside the comp , a good firewall or a program that stops scripts could be usefull , ...
if it does not stop there , do a leaktest , from www.grc.com
if it still stays , say so , ....then the big guns shall be used
have a nice day

I scanned all my internet drives
I only did not scan 2 drives; and I don't have any internet explorer or favorites stuff on them
I did every other scan.

DNS- denial of service.
I believe...
It can shut you out of websites.

Denial of service is what he means here, but actually DoS is used for it. DNS is Domain Name Service, and is completely unrelevant.
As for teh question if Zone Alarm stops DoS attacks... ahh... who knows .

hi ,
yes the meaning is denial of service , ...
zonealarm free can stop only up to a certain point , ...
what you really need to do is get multiple layers of security , ...
hard , costing handfulls of money , ....
NO
there is enough free software out there , and some lowpriced stuff that beats the most expensive any day , like zonealarm pro
also ask your provider to close some ports off , if you get a no , shop somewhere else !
get ADSL , why , well it very easy to get a cable network , they are made up of large appartment buildings , and its like to keep only the front door closed , .....
ADSL is like a house , with the door locked
you dont leave a car or a house with its doors open , so dont keep your comp open
you can also spend some money on hardware , but take an old comp , do some work , or some one to do so , it shall be low cost , ......and darn good ! > this like having a stainless steel door , ... one meter or three feet thick
many problems start with OEM configurations , stay away from them , or close the holes and ports that are put open , ....and talk behind your back , ...
example , older 1998-2000 OEM software from certain coNpac's has the ability to send a pdf file out , and you dont even know it , imagine its your tax record or so , ....
Steve Gibson from www.grc.com learns everday more and more , and he aint alone , so there are solutions to most problem's
have a nice day , and remember , security starts where you want it

hi ,
why do you need grokster , ...
anything can connect , except if you say otherwise , ...
try uninstall , test if it goes , then get zonealarm again , and see what happens , if it does not go then , say so .
have a nice day

How many locks do you have on your door btw Panag??

hi ,
maybe you dont have something in your comp , or you think so , but for some people this is different !
no-one says that you have to install 7 or 8 security programs , and if you do , good luck , the will probably interfere with each other , ....
the idea for the old pc is this , some people go out and spend large sums on hardware to protect them , yet those people have an old pc standing in the basement or so , .... and with a bit of know-how you can make it into a hardware firewall , ....
howmany locks do you have , .......
a car as a lock on it , you can put an alarm in it , the same for a house the same for a comp , .....
and by the way , only one , .....with a magic banana key
the point is not leave your door unlocked , .....
and the second is , why would you let anyone use your information to make money from it , without you getting a buck or two from it , .... that is afterall the purpose of most spyware , .....
have a nice day
