hi ,
now there is something wrong , ....either its that you have bad luck , ....and all these sites are "evil" , or your copy of ZA aint good , so delete it , look manually for any files that stay behind , delete them , and get a new copy !
write all this info in a mail to ZA , there help desk is very good
reboot after you have uninstalled all the ZA files , then reboot (locked windows files) .
when you reinstall ZA , from their site , read everything what the give you to read , so that you are sure that you have the right settings , .....!!!!!!!!!!!
if you set it for DSL it shall have problems with a normal 28k , .....
check also their Q and A pages !
have a nice day

As for teh question if Zone Alarm stops DoS attacks... ahh... who knows .

Over 90% of Web surfers won't have to worry about DoS or even DDoS (distributed DoS) attacks.
You just need to block wide spectrum scanning, spyware, and remote control trojans.

Right Urban... DoS and DDoS are usually for servers... a good firewall will block any scanning attempts, and that's pretty much it. Unless YOU are the target, those "hackers" are often looking for easy targets, not something you are if in stealth mode.
Then again, being behind a NAT router helps, too, they will just scan the router, not your PC. Generally, if you're accessing the Net from LAN, you're very tough to get.

Naviscope ( www.naviscope.com/) is another usefull security program which culls ads and popups.
On a lighter side. This web page exposes nasty little things called web bugs.
http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/interne...ugs/index.html
Guess what? That page has a web bug in it.
http://www.cnn.com/cookie.crumb
A web bug is usually a 1x1 image used to track those surfers who can't be tracked by cookies/java. Not all 1x1 images in a page are web bugs, most are just harmless spacers used by the page designer.
If your running IE 5.x, you can get the web accessories and IE power tools from MS (these are not yet available for IE 6.0). Among the added tools is a r-click menu entry to get a list of all images on a page.
Incidently, the page where I'm typing in this reply contains these images, all 1x1.

Have a nice day.
Edit: added a link
