Apolton, bookmarked by the Rich and famous
July's edition of PCFormat (UK) on page 13, has a side section entitled, "Bookmarks of the rich and famous" .. this months rich/famous individual is non-other than Sid Meier himself ..
Apolyton.net features second in his list , after www.fatbabies.com, and before www.abcnews.com
The actual text under an image of apolyton's front page is
"I have a couple of Civ fan sites bookmarked, but I'll pick the Apolyton Civilization site. The Community has provided us with a lot of ideas for improvements."
Im unable to get a scan of it, as my scanner isn't working ..

Poly ranks up there with fatbabies.com ?
The link doesn't work, but I ponder what the site might be about.

If manually typing the link, do not miss out the 'i'.

The Viceroy,
It was probably too large. If you send the image to me, I'll gladly resize and post it for you. Then again, sending it to Markos and Dan would work too...

Wow, looks great. Even a nice screenshot So Sid does visit this site - and probably the forums too... You don't suppose he would be posting here incognito, would you?
Would the real Sid Meier please stand up?

Hey, hey, yes, now we do have the proof that Sid reads the forums. So much wish he posted here... maybe he does?
Hey, Sided Glory, is it you?

How about putting something like this on the site's front page Markos?:
Quote:
|
"The Apolyton Civilisation Site has provided the community with a lot of ideas for improvements." - Sid Meier
|
It might make the casual surfer sit up and take notice when they access the front page from a search engine.

Maybe he's being a masochist .
Siro, yeah... but alas it was fake. Now we only need the real Sid to show up? Spink? Ming? Eli? or maybe Uberkrux is Sid?

Alexander's Horse is Sid. I'm pretty sure of that. Or so I guess. Whatever.
Anyway, congratulations to Mark and Dan!
And yes, follow FP's advice; after all, Apolyton is the second best place to go when you have nowhere to go.
