citizen census week 27
This poll is the citizen census for week 27.
The results will be used to determine the number of active citizens over time.

Please participate in the poll, as the results will give us and idea of how "representing" the other polls are.

There are 2 groups of options: Yes and No. Both groups have 3 options.

This poll is official and up for 6 days, till Saturday.

Comments on the census are welcome and citizens as well as non-citizens who dont participate are encouraged to comment in here why not. Maybe we can then improove things to make them participate.

I don't see the point of this as people who don't post or vote probably won't do so here either.

i have different experience from my "other life" (yes, im suffering from a split personality). If we get some "lost citizens" to post their reasons for leaving in here, for example, then maybe we can improove things.
And it does not look right if we have 3 yes and only 1 no option (or no no-option).
The main point is to count the Yes-votes (especially those who also vote) for statstical and organizational purposes.

/me wonders what the point of the Abstain option is.

You vote to count (for numbers), yet abstaining tells us nohing.

problem with this consensus idea is that anyone who doesnt vote wont come here to vote to say they dont vote. Thusly, the consensus COULD be simplified by simply starting a thread, and saying "post a reply if your still active, and say how you are active".. and then put a little poll at the top with "Active with both""active with posts""active with polls""active but only watching."

But giving so many options for NON-actives is detrimental to the results ya want. And you dont find out who is innactive.

i know. but if we get some to respond, they will be useful. nevertheless, if no other pros here i will just post a "No, i dont" in the next poll.
The statistics wont be hurt by this, as it will just be a "total yes, vote, poll" line for each week.

i also think almost nobody will only post in the threads. these options were just included to complete the possible options.

As previous posts by me have shown. I am clearly a member of the Apolytonian proletariat (and not the industrious/follow-the-party-line type, neither)
I don't use the site often enough to be part of a party - I would like to see the current polls clearly visible and a summary of each stage of progress (After each turn-chat?) in an obvious place - possibly with access to an archive of information. Polls and threads of this nature merely serve as quicksand to the messengers of our empire and yes - even now I wonder why I am playing my part by posting a response.. (maybe the word 'bollocks' wasn't exactly helpful, or explanit-ory enough)

1. this is probably considered a spam thread.

2. Why exactly would anyone vote for a useless poll (the reason I say this is that they can better show their activities by voting on the "REAL" polls At least that's what I would do

3. This thread is a good idea at frist glance, but at second, a reasonable count can be had by looking at the real polls and the number of votes they receive

as
a) no abstain option is in the real polls
b) many poll are not found by ppl in time before expiration cause of non-toppedness
c) its hard to go thru all the polls

this will not be representative. as this is a sticky poll there every week, citizens can rely on it being there. and 1 more vote (even if senseless in the mind of one compared to 78) per week really does not hurt.

to your 1st point: when would a spam-thread be topped? how come the votecount reflects the other votes counts?

btw: if this poll is desidered spam, why does this poll have a higher participation than most other polls?

good point, but i don´t think that everybody considers this poll as spam anyway, I for one think it´s a great idea...

this poll also shows us which polls are uninteresting for citizenry.
example:
here, we have 79 votes. if a poll only gets 10 votes, is the option chosen really representing the will of citizenry? or was something else wrong with the poll (like online too short, wrong options, abstain missing etc.)? or did the citizens just not care about it?
