July Patch
Have there been any leaks as to when the July Patch (formerly known as the June Patch) is going to be released?

This is not complaining, I am just curious if anyone knows.

Thanks,
Pap

I hope its the August Patch.
1.21f seems to fix a lot of things and I'm actually worried they may do some stupid thing in their next patch that ruins the current balance.

Whatever the case, i hope more improvements on the AI is done. it's already pretty tight, but a few more modifications to make it more difficult to exploit them would be nice.

I think the fact that they released all of those maps today is an attempt to satiate all of us Civers who are foaming at the mouth to get the delayed patch....

the sooner, the better!!!

it would be nice if someone from firaxis would give us a slight hint. are we speaking of days, weeks or more than a month?

i don't mind waiting, but i don't like not knowing.

Update that poll "Will the patch be released this Friday [6/28/02]" for this coming Friday (7/5)
-- and every Friday thereafter until it arrives.

I for one am not appeased I say we rally the troops, mobilize the tanks, and invade firaxis for this terrible insult! Just kidding. I am just mad because when I went to look at the page today I was excited because I seen a July date on the update page, and it was only some crappy maps

It would probably not be in this Friday.

Since day before, Americans have their holiday.

So maybe next Friday?

My guesses for the delay in the latest patch:

* The patch has more fixes than usual, or the patch has been referred to QA multiple times. I expect this patch to be labelled 1.27f when it is released.

* The patch includes an overhaul of the editor in preparation for PTW. (This is known to be in the patch.)

* Work on PTW has taken some programming resources, thus extending the time before the patch is released.

My guess for the release date for the patch: Thursday, 18 July.

I didn't think that they would answer a whole lot but they did say it was in beta testing, so, hopeful it won't be too long.

Subtract 9 from 31. I don't think Firaxis works weekends, and possibly 7/4... but I don't think they are union anyway.

Firaxis has already confirmed that a patch is coming before PTW is released.

Closer to about 1 in 10. The other patches have always been due for release on Fridays, but are sometimes released a day or two early.

And no, I don't know anything specific. Just making a good guess.

Firaxis webmaster only works in Fridays.
(or at least that's the only time when he updates Webpage)

I know this, since when I send the new version of my Player1 MOD to Speed Bump he usualy says to me that it will be posted at civ3.com on Friday.

Yeah I started a new game on Kal El’s Earth Map and it wasn't half bad. But Its still a little slow with 15 civs So I started another game with 10 and used the cpt thing to place the other civs and it made it a pretty interesting game again
