trading maps
ok, we can sell our maps to other civs, or we can buy/trade them. Good, i like this feature
As it stands we have two options:
* territory map
* world map
How about a third option :
* world map minus your territory !
I think this can be quite usefull in MP games, where you want to do some trading without giving away too much about yourself.
Keeping the location of your resources secret can be quite a bonus when you are fighting a defensive war for example.
So what do you think about it.

Excellent idea!
This is something that would be very useful in an MP environment I think.
It would show all your borders, of course, since the your territory would hsow up as an obvious-looking black space.
By far the most important thing though is the placement of resources.
If trading maps will tell my human opponent where my only source of iron is then I will never trade them my map ... no will anybody else for that matter.

The problem is that other people will sell their world map. If they have ventured on land owned by you, either before or after it was owned by you, then that will show up, as will any fringe from the scouting parties.
As it now, I don't sell the AI either of my maps until the world is mostly settled and explored. I will buy theirs, though.
I do like the concept. Another good concept would be the ability to decide how much of either map you wanted to sell. If you only wanted to sell the NE corner of the map, then you could. With the advent of screenshots, such is possible through email or websites.

not allways, allthough you might have wandered through my territory at the start of the game, you probably don't know where my rubber( no pun intended ) is located a 1000 years later.
So you might more or less know the outlook of my empire, you know nothing ( much ) of value.
I.E. : new founded city's
new resources
resources that 'moved'

the AI seems to know where the resources are , ....if you give a map , the dont have lets say fission , but one civ of the AI does , its like the AI says to all other civs , build there , there is uranium , so you have that rescourse when you have the tech , ...
have a nice day

Once a tile is on your map, you will see the resources appear whenever the tech is reached. Regardless of when you explored that tile.

how bout it tells you how much more the AI knows than you! So you can trade without learning nothing and the AI learning everything!

its annoying when you trade your map and their map, and find out they know nothing and you know everything, and they end up using it to take over your far flung island thats still to be colonised by your settlers who are on the way!
