God could've saved those kids!
That's the kids on the latest plane disaster and also those that have been sodomised by priests for the last 'God' knows how long...

Discuss.

God could have saved humanity from existence.

I avoided a mid air collision once by ignoring the instructions of an air traffic controller. I believed the 4 landing lights coming toward me at about 300 miles per hour before I considered his instructions to remain on course. Another time I was directed into a radio tower. This was in the United States. I think the blame for this will eventually be found to rest on the controller. A firend of mine said that all the planes turn into so many blips on a radar screen after a while and the gravity of the job sometimes gets lost in the routine of tracking blips and transponder data.

I am sorry that these kids died and I am sorry that the air traffic controller will have to live with this the rest of his life.

God also gave us the ability to reason and examine the world to realize that the religious scripture is myth and not fact. Unfortunately, many people do not have that ability.

If he saved everyone we wouldn't pay for our mistakes. You have to learn sometimes. If he saved all christians averyone would be a christian and it would take no faith at all. God is big on faith, he likes it.

This argument might be a little more convincing if there was some correlation between belief in God and the avoidance of mishaps.

Nothing fails like prayer. Of course, many of those whose prayers went unanswered are conveniently not able to point this out, on account of being dead.

That's my point man. Read the post the only reason god doesn't reveal his presence through these things is that if we all knew he was out there everyone would be a christian. He apparently wants only those who have some ability to beleive without proof.

Don't ask me why, i'm not god, nor did he send me here to represent him.

If god revealed his presence, I doubt everyone would become christian. After all saying that we can't understand god, and then writing a book about him seems like a contradiction. If god exists, chances are that every religion has it wrong. And the problem is that if god reveals himself, because we can't understand him, we'd STILL get it wrong.

There is no proof that God does not answer prayer. Sometimes the answer might be 'no'.

You guys want to live a life without God, and decide your own moral standards, but when things go wrong, you suddenly want God to fix things up.

Not really. He could be doing something else, or he might not care! He can't be everywhere at once...oh, wait a minute.

I bet you just squealed for joy when you heard the news didn't you? This allowed you to make a really cool controversial thread on poly and get lots of people upset.
