Maybe I'm an idiot, but . . .
What the heck does "MGE" stand for????
I see it all over the place (usually as a "required to play" item on scenarios), but I can't find anything that it could stand for.
I mean ToT stands for "Test of Time" (I'm pretty sure, at least) and FW would stand for Fantasy Worlds. But the only thing I find close to MGE would be the Gold Multi-player Edition (but the letters are turned around). And if this is true, then it appears I'll be left out of quite a few scenarios as I don't own the multi-player game and had no need to purchase it as I play against the AI only (yea, I have no friends to play with - how sad!).
So, could someone please straighten me out here? Thanx!

Multiplayer Gold Edition.Thats what the North American version of civ2 multiplayer is called.
btw-with Cedric Green's FW update, you can make your 2.42 into FW and enjoy most of the good scenarios.
or with MGE update you can get the whole smear.
You need a working copy of Civ2 2.42 or those updates do nothing.I'm not supposed to provide a link here but if you are a Civilization Fanatic you can find them pretty easily.

Hydey, familiarity with the lyrics of that song not only dates you (us both), but is a strong indication that you are in need of therapy...

As had I. At least that band (Men at Work?) was a flash in the pan and we were not subjected to album after album from them, ala many of the current no-talent hacks.

Yeah, Ratt is, too - at casinos and bingo halls. Beats pumping gas, I suppose.
