Ming just closed my thread about Canadians.
Firstly it was a genuine question, given the USA connection of business etc but then I snuck in a joke about the colony bit. What's wrong with that?
Aussies get heaps of flack about convict ancestry and still keeping the British queen as head of state, etc etc...
Why can't I joke about the July 4th?
Plus, I seriously want to know if it effects business activity in Canada and does anything close down in Canada on this day?? Especially in the border regions. Or do you just continue as normal?

Who isn't in some way, shape or form? Apart from Hydey, of course, who put it in writing - in this forum - that he's the only normal Australian. Regardless, we're looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with her wit, warmth and charm and her filling the conversation gaps when Horse takes breath between episodes of his 4WD & The Garage saga.

It had nothing to do with Civ 2 Multiplaying. Every other thread in this forum - and every post within those threads - relates to Civ 2 Multiplaying.

Is July 1 a significant Canadian date? I mean, does it rank in history? Or was it just chosen?

Okay. Very sensible to choose to start a country on the first of the month. Easy to remember, easy to work out how old the country is, that sort of thing. Unlike this place, which, typically, plucked the 25th of January out of the air. If this place's founders had been 24 days more on the ball, we'd have a sensible birthday too. Still, at least we got it very wrong. Look at the Americans - they only got it 3 days wrong. That's just careless, IMHO. We were stupid, and remain proudly so.

So, Sneak, are you coming to our Civ dinner or not? Or are you going to ignore the invitation like last time? In polite circles, an RSVP is a matter of course.

Gee, Fortress Horse. Complete with balconies from which Horse can deliver his speeches to the masses.

Whatever it is, will it withstand the full force of a 4WD with a half-asleep Horse behind the wheel?

Horse's disappearance from the thread suggests Mrs Horse came home from shopping.
