Methinks the database needs a bandaid
The past couple days I've been getting "problem with database" errors when editing (mostly -- almost every time) and sometimes posting.
When it gives the message while editing, it actually does edit the message but it still prints the error message and I must go back to the page manually.
When it gives the message while posting a new post, it posts the new post but doesn't increment the post count for the thread, or update the "last post by field", so when viewing the index you can't tell it's been posted to.

Another oddity is the behaviour of the red/yellow distinction between read and unread folders. Over the last few days I've often been presented with red folders when the last comment is my own (and thus the folder should be yellow).

I can live with these minor problems, just keep the thing online.

Be assured that everyone, Apolyton staff included, sees the message often enough .
As for the red/yellow folders, it's a known issue, and Lucilla did some nice research on it.

Sometimes, most of the time it doesn't have those first two warnings though.

Yeah, I also got that quite often. But I fear that a bandaid will not be enough to fix it.

He is probably sleeping, otherwise he'd already have closed this thread, which is dangerously on the verge of becoming a spamfest...

Mark tends to ignore my threads because he gets all hot and bothered when he sees me post.
It'd be nice if he actually came and said we'll have to deal with it, if he's working on fixing it, or if he's going to try to play it off like there's no problem.
By ignoring the complaints consistently he's not exactly sending out a positive message that encourages everyone to buy Poly merchandise.

I've only really noticed the problem today. Quite acute symptoms actually.

I cannot edit my settings.. or at least I get an error message when submitting modifications. If I go to edit profile what I wrote last time is in the boxes, but they aren't seen in my posts.

I'm getting the urge to shoot all those kittens myself .
Site performance reports aren't affected by the state of the forums - the server is up, and you can connect.
