You too?
Have you heard the Opening Theme of FFXI? It's amazing. Though in regards of opening themes, Liberi Fatali from FFVIII is still supreme. And the The Man with the Machine Gun and Ride On are something beyond imagination.
Sure, the other ones got great ones too. FFVII for instance.
Gosh, I could list you a zillion song titles.

Thanks for finding these.
The final battle music from Final Fantasy 7 is the best IMHO.
Sephiroth is the coolest villain!
Look out for a Sephiroth avatar for myself in about 65 posts time.

I have an animated Sephiroth avatar. Sadly, it's over the size limit.
Here it is, FWIW:

The final battle music of Final Fantasy VII; One-winged Angel :
Estuans interius ira vehementi
Estuans interius ira vehementi
Sephiroth!
Estuans interius ira vehementi
Estuans interius ira vehementi
Sephiroth!
Sephiroth!
Sors immanis
Et inanis
Sors immanis
Et inanis
Estuans interius ira vehementi
Estuans interius ira vehementi
Sephiroth!
Sephiroth!
Veni veni venias (Glorioso)
Ne me mori facias (Generosi)
Veni veni venias (Glorioso)
Ne me mori facias (Generosi)
Veni veni venias (Glorioso)
Ne me mori facias (Generosi)
Sephiroth!
Erm.
Burning inside with violent anger
Burning inside with violent anger
Sephiroth!
A fate monstrous
And empty
Come, come, o' come (Glorious)
Don't let me die! (Generous)
A-hem.
Palaen sisältä voimakkaalla vihalla
Palaen sisältä voimakkaalla vihalla
Sephiroth!
Kohtalo hirviömäinen
Ja tyhjä
Tule, tule, oi tule (Kunniakas)
Älä anna minun kuolla (Jalomielinen)
Sephiroth!

Thankfully my roommate got quite a bit of early FF music from Napster back when it was still in business, and through careful checking and occasional Audiogalaxying can get other interesting music. Then of course there's just buying the CD for some really good ones. Then I get to leech away.
The MIDIs are still interesting though, even when you have most of the .mp3's.
Vlad, you ever find a site for those? I remember that about 2 years ago, the FFO forums had avatars of that style, but they're long gone, and I never wrote down teh site tehy got 'em from.

Snowfire: The Sephiroth avatar I downloaded from FFO. Some of my other avatars-- Squall, Vivi-- are also from FFO.
My current avatar is a sprite ripped from FFI, though. And the dancing Black Mage (which both Victor Galis and myself have used) is from 8-Bit Theatre (check the archives). Some of my other avatars-- Glenn and Dark Serge, for example-- I don't remember how I got them.
Speaking of avatars...
Gibsie: Can you post your dancing Megaman avatar as an attachment? (If I try to right-click-save it, it comes up as a bitmap.)
And speaking of which, where did Boshko get his break-dancing Black Mage avatar from?

I'm so damn stubbornly old-school. I'm sitting here pouring over the old FF V soundtrack, thinking back on the good old days when I could get it to work on my computer but my friends couldn't. For some reason, that soundtrack does it for me, even in MIDI. I think it was just the awesomeness of playing the game for the first time, the way to looked and felt, blah blah. As I've said elsewhere, I'm just easy to please.
And kinda got jaded by FF7 and 8. Like I said, I'm old school.

Vlad: Well, those are "official" pictures, so they shouldn't be that hard to find. Anybody with a PSX emulator and a screenshot device can get 'em. Although maybe this is just my messed up memory, I thought you had plain-vanilla Serge in there for awhile.
Though not exactly what I was looking for, something pretty similar could be quickly whipped up from http://www.rpgamer.com/games/chrono/.../art/serge.jpg
That's why I asked about the Sephy.
And I always liked the +10 swords of instant monster destruction, myself.

FrustratedPoet:
What comes to the soundtracks; I think the ones of FFVII and FFVIII are the best (the Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec orcestrated record especially) - the music of FFIX and FFX doesn't hold such a level though they too have their moments (The final battle musics and You're not Alone and To the End of the Abyss , Seymour Battle). The Opening Theme set aside, FFXI's soundtrack is mostly too bland.
