Firaxis Games has licensed the NetImmerse 3D graphics engine and toolkit.
I looked at my gamespy e-mail today and saw this thing about Firaxis getting this. You can read the whole thing at http://www.gamespydaily.com/news/pre...se.asp?id=1458
I checked out the firaxis website and found nothing on this.

Hmm... I guess that the rumours about the upcoming Firaxis 3D game are now confirmed...
Interesting... the press release mentions "multiple titles". Are we going to see Civ4 and SMAC 2 in full 3D?

Ick...
I'd rather they spend time on improving game concepts instead of making it work in 3d...
