What's Happening With the Game?
For those of us who couldn't make the turnchat, would someone in the ministry please post a report, a savegame link, some screenshots, anything?
Sheesh, it's been almost 20 hours.

Hah.
Our scouts are climbing mountains. Our warriors are squatting menacingly over our citites. Our workers are digging tirelessly. Our constitutional philosophers are debating back and forth about weighty issues like the form our judiciary is to take. And our ministers .... presumably played a few turns yesterday.

Well, yesterday we played one turn. Bismark offered us a crappy deal involving communications which we rejected because he was unwilling to come down on the price. We explored a bit, and I think we found the English, but no contact yet. Nothing much happened really... I'd like to know where the save is as well.

Things do seem a bit hectic in the preperation phase for the elections, hope the current ministers will get of their butts and post something. I know everybody has been busy posting and flaming one-another, but i´m talking about material related to the game itself.
The ministers should remember that the biggest incentive to revote a candidate is if they performed well, and people remember far better what happened yesterday than what happened 3 weeks ago. (Just spending my time pointing out the obvious, its so much fun)

Plus (sorry to pile on here) if the ministers want input from the citizens before the turnchat on Friday, they need to see what's going on, of course.

Yikes, and risk finding Trip's secret "palace guard" knocking on the door of my mud hut in the wee hours to take me in for "questioning"?
Sure, I guess I don't mind, 'dOx.
(I should add, for the benefit of our elected officials, that I do appreciate the fact that they put a lot of time into this game, and that RL does sometimes interfere.)

Still no response? Aaarrgh!! There's no point in scheming up evil plans to conquer the world ( ) if we don't have up-to-date maps! Even if "nothing happened," I assume more black spaces were uncovered.
Over 24 hours, and counting ....

We found (?) the english? Holy sh*t how many people are next to us?
I bet that the world is divided into two chunks. We're on one side, with everyone. On the other side are the Zulu's, who are half way done with their alpha centauri bound vessel.

If you accepted the standard installation names the save should be saved in:
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Saves

It still won`t let me: its in the directory, but in the "Load Game " box it appears as civ3demogame.sav..sav if I do nothing to it, or civ3demogame1870..sav if i remove the "sav" from the file name. I save it as a savdocument. Is that right?

Mine saved to hard disk as civ3demogame1870.sav..sa, don't know why, but it loaded fine when I went into the directory and changed the name to civ3demogame1870.sav

Butch,
Make sure the file is saved with .sav file, use the name the Baron used, it should work. .sav at the end tells it the file is a saved file, "sav", and thus a game and then it knows what to do. ..sav confuses it, it sees the file as a "." file and has no idea what to do with it. When you open make sure name is filename.sav..only one dot.
Hope that works.
