Hail to the new Prussian Emperor "Fürst von Metternich"
We would like to do an important announcement first:
The new Emperor had reversed the political stance his predecessor made and therefore immediately cancelled the Anglo-Prussian alliance. His comments:
We do not want do be pushed into a war which is not ours. We have no bad feelings towards any nation so we hope this neutral stance will show anybody our peaceful nature. Furthermore we decided to accept the French Oldenburg-Mainz proposal. We hope France will always remember this generous act. But also Prussia cannot really live in peace as one crisis was settles another one occurred. The German inhabitants of Stralsund were repeatedly insulted and sometimes even attacked not only by Swedish citizens but also from the army stationed there. Countless comments from our government to Sweden to end this situation and help the German citizens were ignored and sometimes rejected in a very harsh way. So hearing the cries for help we-of course-rushed to our brothers aid and liberated the city. Now the Swedish bad influence over northern Europe was broken once and for all and Stralsund returned home. To show everybody we have nothing against the Swedish we plan to treat Prussians as well as Swedes the same way as long as no rebellious actions or actions which could hamper the Prussian sovereignty over Stralsund were undertaken.
Furthermore the cities of Rostock and Kassel were put under Prussian control and the inhabitants cheered our troops marching through their towns as they know the chaotic times are over and now prosperity will soon come to their towns.
This statement was given today from Fürst Metternich "Ruler of the glorious Prussian nation"

The government of GB is very sad over these measures done by the Prussian government. We always thought we are brothers in arms against whenever a revolutionary warmonger appears. We always relied on Prussia and on the good relations our countries achieved over the years. Well we now must accept your decision and won't take any measures only to take revenge but your actions against the British government will never be forgotten.

Hello, everybody
Hi, is there still place for me in this PBEM?
I'm new, but some of you may know me from civfanatics, where I participate in some PBEM's too.
If there is place, could I play Spain then?
Thanx,
Yop

Woo hoo! A human Spain!
Kinda a weird week, I'm seeing yop73 at Apolyton and the ANZAC at Civfanatics.
Then, the bad news, my repeated message on all threads:
Blast! As I am posting everywhere, I'm going to be gone until at least the 20th, possibly even longer. It's a very long story. As it includes my not having access to the internet except for this 10-minute library sliver, I don't have time to arrange subs this time. Sorry, but I'll try to make the wait as short as possible.

sorry to inform everyone here but i'm resigning my command of austria and russia. I'm doing this as theres been a cheater in another game which is also related to this game. Sorry all but i dont play games with cheaters. Its frustrating and waste of your time.
Just to inform everyone here the cheater changes the rules in the Imperialism 1870 game.

He, Civfan,
Why do YOU quit? Why doesn't the cheater? And who is the cheater?
Would you still be interrested in this game if the cheater leaves?

Personally, I'm sick of all this "you know who you are" crap. It's obvious from comparing our lists and looking at the Imp1870 thread that it was Von Blucher. Furthermore I suspected him of cheating from his last turn here; I wondered how the hell he killed off five regiments in hills when there are "stackable" invisible fortresses there at that, considering the measly British forces that the scenario had near them. I didn't feel like accusing him until now...
Anyhow, we certainly don't have to end this. Just restart with a new British player, and there will be no effect of cheating. Or (for my sake since I don't like redoing turns) we could just have a new player redo the latest British turn, since the first one was uneventful and the effect of his cheating would be low.
Would you want Britain, Yop? I could retake Spain if there are no objections and then we wouldn't have to risk killing the thread by waiting for a volunteer.

Just giving him a chance to explain himself, Darius. But it appears he has chosen to leave. Good riddance.
Sorry for butting in.

Yeah, but I've been present during at least half a dozen cheating busts and I never understood hiding it, especially when it might threaten the game's continuation. Let everyone know that someone is suspected. Then if they aren't guilty they can explain themselves, and if they are guilty they, well, they leave.

Oh, alrighty then. Personally, it's just my dramatic touch that makes me do those things. Keep hoping that some other cheater will admit his sins.

Fine, I'll take Britain then, but I want to wait 2 more days to see if noone else wants them. Also, it doesn't seem very fair if you played the Spanish.

Sorry for interrupting. I searched for an opportunity to play Civ II online than I saw this site and it's great. I browsed the threads and looked were I can join and I think you are in need of players so I hope I can join here. If you would agree with me I would like to be one of the minors like Spain or Sweden as I'm not to familiar with the mail-thing and I think I would not be a opponent for your level as Britain and I would not like to be in a war from the beginning. I would prefer a country where I can get into it slowly. Hope it's ok for you. Also I would like to introduce a colleague from me: We played Civ several times during our corporate network or on the zone and he would like to join too. I think he will introduce himself later today and we hope you will welcome us here in your team as Spain and Sweden.
In hope of a positive response.

If you played Spain that would be best, although they are at war against Britain and you said you didn't want to start with a war on. If you still would do Spain then all we have to do is restart and get this going.

Ok ladies and gentlemen here I am.
Thank you for the introduction M-a-A. Oh I think I know why you chose this name think you know mine too and yes me and the Man over there ducked out many network-games and according to my counting it's around 10:8 for me but I will generously grant you a revenge match how about today in our coffee break? Will see you there
Yes I think I will be Sweden if it's ok? Nice little country convenient located in the north far far away from the trouble, having a good time.

Yes Spain and Britain might be at war with each other but I think given the starting units Spain might contain the British aggression and it's more or less a side theatre. The war between France and England will be much harder and therefore I thought I will choose Spain. Furthermore Spain can do a little naval attacks on GB but they don't have the capability to do more.
And yeahh I know why you chose this name Glava ok will see you later on than it's payback-time wohoo

OK. Are we going to restart this game, or are we going to play on? If we play on, then it's your turn, Darius.

Nono,
I accept your proposal. Hannover is given to Prussia and France. Portugal, except Lisboa, and Gibraltar are given to Spain. I just want a couple of turns to evacuate everything...
It's France's turn now.

But Britain is the first player in the scenario, and I thought you said you didn't want your navy sunk in the first turn meaning a restart, so restart as Britain.

The new beginning
According to the newly-signed British-French Peace-agreement, no British ships saw action this month.
No French or Spanish ships were sunk.
Next month, we will begin the evacuation of All Hannover cities and of all cities in Portugal, except for Lisboa.
We however ask patience, because an evacuation might take some time. Whenever I say a city is ready to be taken, only then, the person who wants to take the city may take him. This is to avoid of none-rehomed units to disappear.
PM Pitt.
