Live from Madison Square Garden, it's Capitalist Vs. Communist Gladiators, Part II! They're starting up the chainsaws even as we speak!
I'm not even touching the question, this time.

Why do everybody wants to become a "halfcomputer"?

I can't get the stupid poll to work, but I'd join the Data Angels. I like freedom of information, and the leader is a hottie. :-)

The Beerdrinkers, of course.
+1 efficiency must utilize financial resources efficiently in order to buy as much beer as possible.
+1 morale beer makes you gung-ho
-2 knowledge beer makes you dumber
Rec commons at every base.
May not use police state SE option - drunks don't like cops

Actually, beer makes you smarter. You know, beer kills brain cells. This is like a herd of sheep attacked by wolfs. The slowest sheep gets caught, and the herd in its average runs faster, and doesn't have to wait for the slower. So, beer kills the dumbest brain cells and the rest will be brighter.

I'd join the Pirates. Everyone else is far too inflexible with their social engineering agendas. The Pirates can pick any social engineering choice based on what is needed, not because they have a doctrine to follow.
Behind them, I'd join the Free Drones, as they are a natural choice for me since I'm a socialist.
I might possibly join the Angels, or the Consciousness, but I don't know anything about hacking and I don't like the idea of sharing brainspace with a sentient AI.

Ugh. Time to go to bed (5:46 AM local time). I'm seeing things in two.
Then again, a repolling might be in order - I voted UoP the last time but I think I'll go for the Consciousness this time. The idea of getting cybernetic augmentation and eternal logical longevity has it's points. Emotion sucks.

No way. Anyway, Aki isn't 100% emotionless - haven't you ever seen her get mad at you after committing an atrocity? And just imagine what it'd be like to have a computer living in your brain...you'd be able to do all sorts of calculations, have enhanced abilities, everything!

But the question remains: Who is in control? You? Or the AI you're sharing your brain with?
Personally, I'd think that the latter would hold more control.

I think definitely the individual. I'd go through the whole process of explanation, but it'd probably be quicker if you just read Unity (do a search in the AC-fiction forum).

As long as she shaves her armpits. Unless you go for that "natural" look, that is
Besides the glorious BeerDrinkers, I go for Gaians, then the peacekeepers. I'm a lover, not a fighter. I like both of them for pacifist tendencies. And im sure the Gaians make a kick-ass home-made beer.

Sporeflower Malt Liquor.
Pirates. Not only because they prolly drink beer but because of their flexibility. And with the marine detatchment ability, you definitely control the sea. And the amount of energy you get (minus the fact that solar collecter farms and borehole plantations produce more) is absolutely astounding. Besides, since you're so mobile, shouldn't be difficult to find a nice island to make your collector farms anyway. And foil supplies are pretty cheap. Easy to rush build or crawl resources. No need to pepper the area with roads, obviously. One more terraforming step not necessary.
