As we speak, on another thread a Judicial branch ammendment is being developed by us citizenry. Hopefully it won't be too long before we have a court up and running, but I can say it probably won't be anytime soon enough to solve this problem.

Ah, emergancy court, that might just do the trick. I'll have to check out that thread, but, i must say, I'm getting pretty tired of all this. I think I'll retire shortly to a nice soothing game of civ...

No emergencies courts, please. I voted 'no' in the thread of Mr Timeline, with all respect to him. It seems like some kind of dictatorship tribunal ( I'm pretty shure Mr. Timeline don't want this ), and I doubt this solve the problem. But the poll is almost closed, and Ninot leads by four votes, 51.49 %. THIS may put the things in the right way.
But, after all, every discussion is good for Democracy. Even this one...

Those aren't bad cartoons. The Historian needs to get his butt over here and begin writing about this event. He could use these cartoons to help illustrate the emotions of Apolytonia during this ground shaking delima for the generations to come!

Let the election end; and any non member votes be disqualified. If there is an issue after that, let's worry about it then.
If any nonmembers have voted, delete their vote(s) from the poll.

Keep voting people, especially if you are on the citizen list. If Trip specified 5 days when he set this up, then it will run until about this time tomorrow.

Wow, I am out of town for a couple days and all hell breaks loose. Took me forever to read through all 12 pages ;P. Firstly I am against 2 presidents (unfortunately voted prematurely for approving and the more I thought about it the less I liked my vote not counting), Secondly The court idea is a must, it would help resolve alot of these issues. I hope to see a good solution soon, have not had a chance to read Timeline's court thread thats next on my agenda. I am glad that we had alot of people stick to their guns *against* the 2 presidents decision and I hope this gets resolved.

To avoid further chaos and confusion, I hereby officially concede defeat, and allow Ninot the full position of President. I had not anticipated such problems, and therefore, he who reaps the wind must harvest the whirlwind.

I appreciate what your trying to do, and I think its currently a valid choice, but in the long run I think it should be made impossible for the winner of an election to concede defeat resulting in the loser winning. It doesnt look like you'll win this anyways (but it could change), but I dont like the idea of a possible future scenario where someone takes office with only a small fraction of the vote because the more popular guy stepped down at the last minute. In those situations, I think it should result in a "invalid poll" (since one of the options on it was no longer an option) and a revote. In any case, its just something else to address in our election reform ammendment
Oh and if I didn't say it before Trip, I also appreciate what you and Ninot tried to do by settling this, I didn't agree with it, but I know you both had the best of intentions.

Yes, they BOTH meant well, but they just went about it the wrong way.
Hail Ninot!
Now, on to the Supreme Court issue...

Noble thing you've done here, Trip, and I commend you for it.
And you didn't even drag it out for three months like Gore did, so we can be even happier...
Congratulations, Ninot! Lead us to glory.

Was that in a local, non-syndicated paper? I tend to stay on top of political cartoons from Newsweek/ Newyork Times and my local paper, and I haven't seen this one.
EDIT: What an elction America had. I mean, has there ever been two poorer candidates for the most powerful man in the world to run simultaneously? We even had crapier 3rd party candidates. Could you imagine Ralph Nater (who, btw, looks alot by Michael Richards[Cosmo Kramer]) waging the war on Terrorism. He would rathe **** a tree. No offense to any Green Party supporters ; or any party supporters for that matter out there.

Edit your profile, and select your country from the list it puts the flag for that country next to your name.
EDIT: Answered my own question, I feel blind that I didn't see the big POLL: flag for apolytonia thread below It'd still be cool if we could pick Apolytonia as our country and have it beside our names as citizens/minsters though

That would be cool. We would need to design a flag, cause I don't think we have one. Definately be interseting from a role playing point of view.
