You should try it. It's absolutely kick-ass combination.
(On Russian it called "yorsh"- a little fish with spikes).
Take a litter or two of light beer and add a bottle of vodka. Drink it as you usally drink beer. When you'll be out of this mix ->start to drink pure vodka-> fell on floor insensitive -> wake up next morning with horrible pain in head-> drink some light beer -> feel how life return to your body. Repeat the proccess. (Just kidding, don't do this or soon you'll become an alcoholic.)

Thanks for the tip Serb, i can't believe i haven't tried that, since i enjoy vodka very much. I've always wanted to drink vodka with a russian guy and get wasted . Like with some russian drinking traditions or something, it'd be awesome.

Pekka,
I can guaranty you a really horrible pain in head on next morning. So, think twice before drink it. And if you still decide to try it, first mix big quantity of beer with small quantity of vodka.

I was always told that mixing drinks such as spirits and beer did incredible damage to your body. Is this true? Or is it something parents just tell there kids to stop them drinking?

Why do people have such illogical ideas about alcohol?
If you drink 100mls/10 units of alcohol, it doesn't matter if those 10 units come by 10 units of alcohol in beer, 10units in wine, or by 5 from each.

When you get older and (hopefully) mature, you discover that its more enjoyable to drink in moderation rather than push yourself to the limits of intoxication.
I would much rather avoid a hangover by getting a pleasant buzz going for a few hours than get stupid drunk and have a raging headache the next day.

You don't necessarily need to be old or mature to realise this...

I had a Boddington's for the first time this Saturday. Found it to be a little bland, actually. I was much happier going back to Guinness.

a 70 cl bottle of vodka during a couple of hours, easily. Don't do that very often nowadays though. It's often quite pointless.

The best buzz is the one you get after having a great meal, and during it you have had 2-4 glasses of red wine. The sated, warm feeling just can't be beat.

Yes 35cl is so much more productive. I need to clean up around here. I'll drink a bottle first, that'll make me productive.

look, if you mix drinks you get nausea quicker then if you dont. its ancient truth tried many times. different flavours, and percentages of alcohol and whatnot irritate your organism more then if you only drink one drink whole night. you get both drunk and sick faster.

It totally depends. If I'm well-rested, well-fed and rarin' to go, I can knock back maybe around 7-9 before I start getting sloppy. It's tough to be sure, because I usually drink pints, but if I get a bottled beer it's 12oz. Plus, when you mix in hard alcohol it's difficult to know exactly how much you're getting (bartenders aren't exactly precise, and neither am I. I've been given rum and cokes that could probably run my car).
As for personal "best" ... again, tough to say, because one usually doesn't keep accurate count when one gets totally wasted. I split a handle (1.75 L) of Jack Daniels w/a friend of mine once, but we were up until 5am.... so it was spread out.

One thing which has been proven is that Champagne will get you drunk faster, since the bubbles makes your body absord the liquid faster.

Sure.
But if you want to get drunk very fast, then you should mix Champagne with vodka. We call it "Severnoye siyanie"- "Northern shining"
