Actually, I was just about to ask you what a "Vest Mod" was, until I saw your next post. I had visions of all the units in the game wearing vests and scivvies
Seriously, though, I think a best Mod competition would be great, though I'll wait to see just HOW flexible the editor is before I personally sign up!!

There is a mod competition you ninnies!

Firaxis said the best scenarios would be SHIPPED with PTW (ala "best of net").

thats why they're giving us the editor 4-5 months before PTW comes out, so we can make scenarios for them.

Title of thread: "Mod Competion Idea" - its spelt Competition

Anyway, there seem to be a few scenarios and mods in planning which look like they're going to be really good. And the idea of a competition could leave a few sceanrio makers depressed because they weren't liked. The Firaxis choosing the best is alright because they made Civ3 and it won't have some people excluded as badly when people vote for their favourite and someones might not come up once. I reckon just leave it at that unless there are like a million or so in which case it won't be nearly as bad.

And besides, if someone included evil butterflies (most of you probably won't know what that's about), cows or llamas or something else that good, of course just about everyone is gonna love it whether or not it's actually any fun.

Great, Firaxis is going to charge us for scenarios that we should already be able to download for free... What a crock!!!

i'm sure it's free... after all, it's first posted here or at CFC and they choose it.

i think it will be a bit like the maps. e.g. from CFC they took two "strategic game boards", the firaxis logo-map, etc.

in PTW you basically pay for
things you can do yourself
- 8 new civs + UUs + leader head
and things you can't do:
- airfields
- outposts
- and some other things, i hope
