Definitely Master of Magic 2. That was a good game with a lot of options like SMAC and MOO 2. Since MOO 3 is under construction, I am hoping to see MOM 2 followed by another SMAC game.

Definitely Master of Magic 2; That was so far the 'pinnacle' of the evolution of TBS-games. Very close comes Moo1 and Moo2 (and propably Moo3).
It wouldn't hurt either to see Once upon a time in SMAC.

I vote Civ 4: a sequel to SMAC

Civ III is so simplist compared to SMAC...
Like there's always this simple governments instead of a good Social Engineering, the Diplomatic Victory is a win/lose challenge, with a single vote for each leader, the building of the Ship is so easy, etc....
Fun but not as much as SMAC.

I voted for Civilization 4, just because you mentioned Atlantis in the description.

What is this Atlantis (in addition to a space shuttle and a lost city rumor)?

SE and workshop has got to be the best creation for a TBS ever. I'll play any game if it had this feature.
