Using an arbitrary grouping (from months of observational research ) civers may be thought of as:
1. Players
a. MP
b. SP - 2.42, MGE, FW, ToT
c. Challenge-specific eg OCC...
2. Scenario-Makers
a. Historians
b. Futurists
c. Fantasists
d. Challenge-specific
e. Map-Makers
3. Iconists
Basically all graphics oriented development and collection
4. Theorists
a. Development
b. Testing
c. Collecting & Collating
5. Other
(Well, no research is ever complete) Please specify
Which are you?
I'm 1c (70%), 4b (15%) and 2d (incipient, 15%)

I am 1a three nights a week.
1b whenever i feel like it mge only now
1c just starting on with occ
other, i try my own things or other challenges from apolyton, but rarely do i post about them unless its relevant to a specific topic.
My latest gig, is to write a story about a game i am playing, with all the detail, and then tell it from a history teachers point of view. Might make for an interesting read, ala the story of Civ 2

Interesting...
1b (MGE)
2d (nothing like a precise objective!)
3 (fiddling with other's and creating from scratch.)
4a (It's all in the process of giving it after.)
For a grand total of 100% for each one of the above while i'm concentrating on a single task.

1)b.
2)b,c,e (although my scenarios are under development)
3)I've modified some icons to create, among others, an argentine tank (the TAM), a mounted Howitzer and a modern artillery.

I would suggest a slight modification to your groupings in section 1. Option 'c' would be a subset of 'b', i.e., i) OCC, along with ii) ICS, iii) PE (Perfectionist Expansionism), and iv) SG (Succession Games). With that understanding, I would be:
1bi - 20%
1bii - 40%
1biii - 20%
1biv - 20%

1B and what do you mean by 2B? If you mean like Giga-maps and tiny maps I'd fit under there.

jcarkey: By 2b, Futurists, I meant those who project the future in as scientific and realistic a way as possible which would distinguish it from say pure science fiction where the more fastastic notions hold sway. Does 2e "mapmakers" fit more closely to your activity?

No to both of those. I'd say a 5 for a researcher.
