Muxec,
It is hard to tolerate your participation in any discussion knowing that you have a pirated illegal copy of CIV3 and attempt to justify that theft by virtue of being from an economically depressed country.
Once a thief always a thief. No excuses. Zero tolerance. If I were a moderator you would already be banned.

The programmers of course. You realize that each of these guys are probably doing the job of 2 or 3 guys? Soren did the entire AI, and it's probably the best I've seen. And Mike's done all of the editor by himself. They above all others deserve our thanks. I commend you guys.

Cracker, if i were moderator, you would already be banned or at least nick would be changed.
I think that without civ we would have the civ. By the time of civ1 (1990-1991) were a lot of game designers with similar or civ-like scenarios. Programers- the best!

I'd have to say programmers, for the reasons given by Trip.

What a sycophantic thread.
Sid had nothing to do with this game so he is irrelevant.
As for the rest of them, they caused me eight months of irritation and work by marketing a beta game for fifty dollars long before it was ready.
Even after 1.29 they haven't got it right and have an incomplete editor. I still can't even increase the range of bombers (even Stealth) beyond '8', even with a huge map. As for Culture Flipping, they are in love with this idiocy, among other things.

The programmers.
muxec I think it is legal if you did not copy the disk and it is not played on more then one computer at a time, it could be not installed on more then one computer at a time though.

I would say that Soren, but since he is not in list I would vote for "Thanks, programers".
P.S.
And in NO CASE for "Thanks, Sid".
He in project was just a marketing ploy.
He was "tester and advisor".
Humph?
P.P.S.
Ok, OK.
I was a little harsh.
I would say "Thanks Sid, for making Civ1. It was an excellent and original game in its time".

I suppose you can't go past thanking the programmers but I'd also thank Firaxis for funding the project so long to allow Jeff and co to make several patches.
Never seen so much support for one game!

Just like Trip, I'd like to thank the programmers. They had probably the most difficult of tasks -- to recreate a classic game loved by millions of strategy players. And, in the end, they succeeded. You might think that this thing could be done better, or that another thing there is a good idea that could be better implemented, but I'm sure that the programmers wanted, above all, to make a fun game. And they managed to do it.
(BTW, I include the artists among the programmers, both because I don't like the expression "graphics-drawers" and because I think that the artistic design has a strong sense of unity and a subtle elegance, and that adds to the atmosphere as a whole).

I have to say thanks to Firaxis and especially to Sid that has given me along with thousands of others pleasure in gaming!
I've played tons of games in the last ten years but the sum of all hours played in Sid's games surpass al the others.
Thanks again!

Hacker.
It was the first version I could get my hands on. Later I bought the game but I thanked the people involved in the making by giving them money.
Thanks for not abandoning the game though!

Well, he's not in the list but I thank Soren for the best AI I've ever seen in a TBS game (or any game at all)!
And of course all the other programers as well.
