My apologies to all.
MNN is reporting that the 'Chin emperor has not been seen in public since a surprise raid on the capital. Speculation is rampant that he may be dead or seriously injured. Meanwhile, the Mongol treasury seems to be about 1000 gold pieces richer. We go now to "military analyst" Ogadei Gasbag: "blah blah blah".
Thank you, Mr. Gasbag. We'll return to the Mongol News Network for more propag... er, news, after a short break.

H Tower, your turn!
BTW: the Chin Emperor killed? Ouch...
oh, and in the events, if ANYBODY takes Alamut (no piece of cake, BTW), the mongols loot 500 gold: it should be the triggerattacker, not the mongols!!

There's a list at the bottom of the first page of this thread, where I've also posted the modified files

Tech, in case you are answering to me: what happens is that the scen was originally made for SP and a mongol player!
As it is, the AI has virtually no chance to ever take Alamut (hell, I'm not even sure I'll succeed...).
And what we did (i.e. Case did) for this pbem, is modifiy somewhat the event file, and I just think this passed through, that's all!
Anyway, it's no big deal if, thanks to the Khwarezmian generosity, you earn 500 Gold!!
And no, I'll never try to second guess Harlan Thompson!

I did ask for further sugestions
We could fix the events file, but for this to work delevent would have to be run on a saved file and this would reset all the events which have been triggered.
Perhaps the best solution would be for Tech to give you the money if you suceed...

I wasn't attacking your work, Case!
Yes, let's just keep it that way, and maybe the mighty Khan will agree to give me this money back, should I succeed in taking Alamut??
H Tower, it has been a long evening??

Guys, I'm sorry but I just can't play civ2 right now, I've got homework coming out my ears, and group projects galore. I spent 12 hours on campus today at classes or studying or working on projects, and I'm still working on homework right now, even though it's 2:20am. Frankly civ just isn't a priority right now, if you can wait for the weekend, then I'll either play or resign. if you can't wait for the weekend, darius can play my turn and I'll try to get back into it, or you can go looking for another player. I'm really sorry I've left you all hanging this long

No worries H Tower: waiting for the weekend is no prob for me! Of course your studies have to be higher on your priority list!
My bumping was more intended as a "reminder" than as a rebuke!
So I say, let's wait a few days, do you agree guys?
BTW HT: working till 2:20am ain't healthy! Only drinking (or f***ing) should be going on at that hour...

1500 more gold sent to the Chin, and at least a dozen units have departed for the front.

Sad news for international trade: Indian merchants have been hindering, again, military operations!
So be warned, o southern brothers: if in the near future your caravans are still blocking the road in the Alamut area, we will, regretfully, have to destroy them!
Taking the assassin fortress is already difficult enough without your (hopefully involuntary )obstruction!
All is quiet in the Khwarezmian Kingdom...
And the save:

Great, we Khwarezmians love flowers!
And if you don't repeat your error, we won't need to use them for your merchants funeral...
