Days off
As mentioned on other threads, I'll be away from the 28th of August to the 8th of September, and not able to access a computer! And YES, before you ask, I do deserve my days off !!
So I'll need a sub for the various pbem I'm in for this (short)time! As I would prefer someone I know from other games, here you'll find the list of the pbems I'm in; so if you would be willing to sub for me in one of the game where you aren't already involved, please let me know!!
Anyway, at the rate some of the game are moving, you might even not need to play a turn...
The games are:
Hellas (Corinth)
History (Italy)
Another Age of War (Turkey)
Mongols (Khwarizm)
American Empire (Indians)
Thanks!!

Civfan, can you please send Henrik your password - He can't remove Smaug's password without yours.

For another month, peace reigns in the Sung Empire, but our emperor has begun to see the true threat in the north. We offer our services, limited as they may be, to our former Chin rival. I have instructed my emmisaries to have a worshipful attitude toward their Chin counterparts, in the hope that we can sign an alliance until the organs of this "Khan" are on tour throughout all China. With a formal alliance in place, our troops can engage the enemy in less than a year.
The Emperor also calls on all nations of Asia to contribute what they can, before these barbarian hordes are at the gates of your own cities!

The mist of morning lay over the colorful gardens of the Sultan's palace. The sky was blue and the soft light of the first sunrays promised to make this a warm and good day, like those before. Slowly, the Sultan stepped on his balcony. Some deer were already grazing in the hunting lodge, just over the wall.
"Today is a good day for hunting" the sultan remarked to his servant.
"That may be so, your highness, but may I remind you of the difficult matters in the south and west of your empire? They need your foremost attention."
The sultan sighed.
"If only everybody was as honest, as you, Mustapha."
The sultan went back inside. Had the situation been so tense? He could hardly believe it. Karim, his closest friend and governor of Punjab and Sindh was already awaiting him.
"What news do you have, Karim?" the Sultan asked.
"Your orders are obeyed throughout the land. Troops have been withdrawn from the border to join your armies at Somnath. However..."
"What is it? You look sad, my friend."
"The Shah, your friend, is ill. Reportedly, he is lying in his bed at Urgendj. A substitute has been appointed for the time being, and you know..."
The Sultan raised his hand.
"You must not say more, my friend. As you know, in Hindustan, walls have ears. But a private notice will go out to Khwarizm regarding those things of your concern. What else, my friend?"
"Well, there isn't much more to say, I was actually visiting Delhi on vacation."
"Of course, my friend, please, enjoy your stay."
A messenger suddenly bursted in.
"I bring news from Somnath, and your general, Ibrahim!"
"Let me hear them."
"The siege of Somnath is drawing to an end. It will take perhaps only a couple of months and Delhi will have a harbor!"
"Those are good news, my friend. How many men have you lost in this action?"
"But few of any sort and none of name."
"A victory is twice itselfwhen the achiever brings home full numbers. Go now, my friend."
"As you wish, your highness."
(Well, now I'm entirely losing my creativity, the last conversation was almost entirely stolen... can anyone guess where from?)

uhhh...Case. Get hip, it's 1212! No wonder you Christians are wearing last years' sheepskin tunics! How unfashionable. Even the Muslims are wearing more up to date fashions.

---------------------Karakorum Times--------------Jul. 1212---
WHERE IS GENGHIS?
Karakorum(Gobi Press)- The Mongol Times reports a period of uncertainty and disorder. The whereabouts of all members of the tribal nobility cannot be accounted for. The Palace at Karakorum has peaded for calm and will release a statement sometime in the next 3 months.
-----Patrilinear Clan Section--------
CASE BUSTED BY FASHION POLICE!
Constantinople(Gobi Press)- Emperor Case of the Christians was observed by KT fashion reporters wearing last years' sheepskin tunics at a ceremony at St. Sophia's Cathedral! Byzantine fashion officials tried to downplay the faux pas, saying Case was "doing a retro thing, like 1211". While that is possible, says Mongol fashion commentator Elton Jebe, it's more likely that the Christian monarch is just unaware of the latest silk fashions imported from New Mongolia. "When it comes to cool, Case is a real Innocent", says Jebe.

If this game gets going again, I need a substitute. Against my will, I will be gone from Thursday afternoon till Saturday the 14th! That means I'll be spending more than a week at a place I've been to a thousand times with money for perhaps a weekend and no-one to play with but my parents
Not that Berlin is a boring town in general, but it gets boring if there's absolutely nothing for you to do except hiking trips with your mum into Brandenburg.

Well, if anybody should be ready to play the Indians till said Saturday, let him know...
-To keep the alliance with Khwarizm going
-Continue the siege of Somnath, and to make this a wealthy harbor once it is taken
-To follow following policy: to become a peaceful, wealthy mercantile nation, but in any case to defend against any agressors, and perhaps to expand at the cost of the barbarian cities to the south and to the east.
-Anyone who is not Indian, and who is not at friendly terms with India is to be considered a Barbarian.

What a good world this is, I still had the opportunity to play this turn.
Somnath has been taken, the work on India's infrastructure is going on, and the postal system has been given to the Khwarizmians in order to let our friendship continue. The only thing I'm asking for now is that the Shah finally removes his troops from the Khyber and Mullah passes!!!

The Khwarezm continues its peaceful development!
The Khyber and Mullah passes have been opened for the caravans! And thanks for the Postal System...
BUT, should any foreign military unit even come close to the passes, this would mean War...
And the save:
