Jungle Gazette: NAME THE WAR!!!
That's right, the war is over, now is your chance to give it a name! We must have one ready by WED.
My proposal is The American Liberation War. There are many of you much more creative, so let's hear them!

Ameritonian War, or the Apolymerican War. Basically, just combinations of the two country names. Or, we could call it 'The Exodus' or 'The Exodus War' or 'The War of the Exodus', as we have moved out of our original jungle home.
EDIT: I DON'T SPEAK THE ENGLISH

no, it doesnt look right either. i would call it, simply, the first war. it may not sound exciting now, but in 1500 A.D. it will stand out from our other wars

why, The Great Leap Foward of course.
i'd also go for the yanko-polytonian war, or something to that effect.

I was just joking. Since there will probably be another war to take Boston later, I say just the First American War.

i think the "First" part of that should be kept out untill we have a "second" war
people didnt call World War 1 World War 1 untill World War 2, ya know, cuz untill world war 2, it was just the World War, or the Great War. Notice all the times i got to use the words world and war?
I had a good laugh at "the war of northern agression" Unfortunately, wouldnt ours have been southern agression? anywhoo...
Great Leap forward is allright, but i rather go with a more standard War name, rather than what was a communist campaign for modernification.

Modernification....
Oh, sorry...
I think the war of 1050 works, its simple, easy to remember, explains a great deal, and well, I can't think of anything better

the problem with something like
the war of (insert year)
is that it implies the war was inclusive to that year, and did not spread to any years. ours lasted 125 years...

They provoked us into firing first since they didn't abandon their fort that was inside our territory.

In reality, a civ's first war would probably just be called THE war by its people until the second war. So "The First War" or "The First American War" seems a clear indicator of the event & to its historical impact (i.e. the first time we realized we could win if we fought)

Since we can't have a Six Day War in Civ3, I vote for the Six Turns War.

First Imperial War of Territorial Expansion
or
First Imperial War of Northern Expansion
or
The War of Aggression
Let's not kid ourselves. There's enough revisionism in real life, why not call it truthfully here? We should remember that our nation's expansion/progression was at the expense of rival Americans and was initiated by us without provocation. Heck, we planned this out for hundreds of years, if that's not a cold-blooded attack ("a day that will live in infamy") on an unsuspecting neighbour, I don't know what is. (Okay, so it's not totally bad, we didn't break an RoP or technically surprise attack since we did declare war - but we are clearly the unprovoked aggressor here.) Don't let the politicians try to spin this one...
I believe our newspaper has freedom of the press, and even the historian's office is being privatized (no?), so I hope our dear paper's editor will be fair in presenting both sides...
Signed,
A patriotic, yet discerning citizen, who hopes his official position and membership in several important institutes prevents him from simply being "disappeared" due to his personal opinions voiced here.

Yes, The American Campaign. Saying First would disclose the most secret plans of the General Head Quarter.

I think Uber's "great leap forward" is excellent... We won't see many wars which will change our situation so drastically (doubling the size of the empire, make us a world power)

You could call it the The Hundred Year's war (the real one lasted 116 years, so accuracy does not matter.)
Or how about The War of the Dyes. The Jungle War.

My staff and I will take this under advisement. Perhaps we could arrange an interview with one of the survivors...However, since when does the press ever truly cover both sides of ANY issue? I personally am in favor of presenting OUR side, but am a business man, and if there is a demand for the other side, perhaps it will sell a few more papers?
On the Historian side, the ball is in your court people. I can manage and arrange submissions, but I have not recieved any for Historian. I do not have time to WRITE both a history and the paper, and, as Tass before me, I choose the paper. It is my baby after all, and with when nearing 100 subscribers, it is not going to be easy to set aside.

OK, going to make a poll tonight.
So far the leaders seem to be:
The Great Leap Forward
The American Campaign (to be called first later)
The War of Neccessity (I) (won...I love it...)
The War of the Dyes (nice and descriptive)
Anyone feel strongly for the other suggestions, or have more?
