Newbie Question
I have plenty to learn about this game but for now 1 thing is driving me nuts...
Is there no way to switch to the desktop while playing civ 3?? I can switch to other running apps but for some reason I cannot switch (or have not figure out how) to the desktop.

If you have other apps running, you can tab to them with alt-tab. Or you can press the windos logo on the key board to bring up the start menu. But I'm not sure of a way to minimize the CIV3 app and get to desktop?

I think that's pretty much it, I've never been able to get Civ3 to minimize. It's either the window you're looking at or it's underneath a window you're looking at.

Windows key + 'D'.
This will minimize everything and take you to the desktop.
