How about a PBEM subforum?
Those PBEM threads have been cluttering this forum long enough now.
But really, there are lots of PBEM threads, and there are a lot of... erm... "normal" threads. So wouldn't it be much neater to create a separate sub forum to make it a bit more well-organized, both for those who don't and those who do play PBEM's. But the forum should be only the actualy game threads, not any general PBEM discussions, discoveries or PBEM scenario releases or so, to prevent this SL forum from splitting up entirely into those who do and those who don't PBEM.

Voted no.
I like having just one forum for my PBEM-needs and for checking out the latest scenarios.
Besides, it sounds like this idea has been taken from the CFC-forum.

Not consciously anyway...
It looks like this wasn't a very good idea, the SL'ers are just too attached to this cozy little place, it seems.

Right on Mercator! While I enjoy reading (some) of the multiplayer threads, the original purpose of SL has become obscured by the multiplayer activity. Much of the discussion of new scenarios now takes place over at CivFanatics. Scenario League is for the discussion and creation of scenarios.

The right place for those threads is civ2/general/help forum I guess.

The PBEM games need their own subforum. Quickly.

I don't know...I voted no...if you move the PBEMs it might kill the vigor that SLeague has now, but now I'm not sure. I don't want to get mixed up with those "Spanish Civ2 Site" people

I'm not sure if that means what I think it means... but if that is the case, JB would be the answer.

I like the idea of a PBEM sub-forum.
However, it had better not be a sub-forum of the Civ2 MP forum - those guys scare me

If you dont want the pbem threads here, you should move it to the MP forum where they first belong
and if a sub-forum is created it would be in the MP forum

What if the forum moderator moved PBEM threads to the MP forum? You could set up a PBEM forum, but that wouldn't stop people from starting PBEM threads in the SL forum.

I prefer seeing an active SLeague forum. When PBEM threads are written well, they are a real asset to have around, and fun to read.

Wel, I think it's mostly the people who don't PBEM who don't "want" them here, so that isn't much help... In the same spirit, the entire SL forum could pretty much be disbanded and all threads moved to the various Civ2 sections, but that's not what we want (as has previously been shown).
I must agree with techumseh, the original purpose of this forum was basically scenario design, tips and reviews. Fairly recently multiplaying has made its entry. I have no objections to that whatsoever, and it should be part of this forum. But it obscures the other discussion material, which is inherently more sparse.

What!? Mark, please don't.
#1 Six people voted for, six against. Hardly a stunning majority, eh?
#2 I know that the PBEM's doesn't "really" belong here. But I still think that the mix between discussing new scenarios and playing old ones is just perfect. Now if you split them...I'd rather have one alive forum than two semi-dead ones.
#3 Simply put, I like this forum. I'm sure many other people like it like this (hope so).
#4 I'd hate to see a CFC-situation with gazillions of foums and subforums to dig through when you just wan't to check on your PBEM.
#5 Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaasssssseeeeeeee don't.

on the issue of having to check many forums, you can "subscribe" to your favorite ones and have them show in your control panel

While I agree with you, there's no need to rush, Markos. Let the debate rage a little longer, please. Everyone should get their say, including our leaders St. Leo and Warvoid. Perhaps a concensus will emerge.

I'd be interested in your point of view, Jesus. The Spanish site is sort of parallel to SL, isn't it? Some scenario stuff and some PBEM. Will you keep both together?

If your going to move them, do it right and give them their own forum, NOT a sub forum.

Civilisation 2
Civ2-General
Civ2-Spanish
Civ2-Strategy
Civ2-Scenario League
Civ2-MP
Civ2-MP Democracy
Civ2-MP Multisite Democracy
Civ2-MP PBEM
(Note the demise of the separate Test of Time and Creation forums)
What we really need are shortcuts to the Hosted Sites forums from the Civ2 category. Actually, calling us Civ2 forums is also acceptable as long as you don't interfere with our current on-topic/off-topic policies. Yes, it's inaccurate, but it would channel the newbies to the appropriate destinations and the discussion does revolve around that particular game.

ehm, the suggestion with a real forum for pbems sounds pretty good. I opposed the idea mainly because i'm afraid of change
