It sounds like you have a corrupted servers.dat file. If you go to the FAQ thread at the top of this forum and look at question #23 you should be able to find the new file and learn how to install it.
Once you get a new servers file you may want to sign up for our MP registrary, also at the top of this thread, and e-mail a few other players to try to set up games. I hope this helps.
