Well, considering that there're multiple player playing a game. I wonder if there's been succession games before?

In a succession game we play a single faction so that one person starts the game, plays, like, 30 turns, then saves the game, sends the game save to the next player, who plays the save for 30 turns and so on until we're finished. I think there's been lots of these with Civ3. Even had a Finnish Civ3 succession game once.

Yup. Oh, and it is recommendable that every player writes a detailed description of his exploits as faction leader. So at the same time we'll get a nice SMACfic written.

I might be intrested, but having no experience, I think I'll wait and see how the game goes first. But would it be possible to join after the game starts?

of course it is possible. but its more fun if you're IN from the beginning.
the idea of succession games is to get little bit more realism into the game, one leader leads a while then another succeeds him. and all leaders are not as good as others, so it doesn't matter how newbie you are. in matter of fact I myself started playing SMAC less than 2 months ago.
and if you want a little taste of what succession games are like go to Civ2 general forum, there are several games going on, read the threads and you know a lot more.

Did the game ever get started?
I just started a thread in the multiplaying forum a day or so ago, before seeing this. Still interested, I hope?

About the succession games being in the multiplay forum, the reason I posted there was because the one succession game I participated in was there. That's all .
If you're interested, please do post in the thread I linked to...we've begun (made it to MY2140 in two terms), and have a separate thread that we'd (or, well, just me so far) like to keep "clean" with just turn reports.
