That's right, it's so obvious that it's the best choice we don't even need to debate it

[OOC]: OK, I know I'm a moron but could someone explain me whether your argument FM vs. Planned is RP or in-game? In other words, is this debate liberals vs. socialists or players preferring either FM or Planned in SMAC? I'm very confused about it... [/OOC]

Maniac's basically right- it is both. There are actually many liberal individualist types who are against a premature move to FM, but the CCCP here is Marxist in origin and opposes FM on principle; that's where the RP comes in. We've had some heated arguements on the topic as well as some decent discussions.
Some of the CCCP lean in a more anarchistic direction, some in a more structuralist direction. In AC terms, it boils down quite readily to an anti-FM stance.

As I'm sure is obvious just about everyone, Pandemoniak has resurfaced. In fact it is questionable as to whether he left at all. As he has continued to act in the capacity of party foreman, most recently in the STEP forum, I'm turning the position back over to him.

Exactly! Which is why we have STEP and Archaic's Democratic Libertarian party. All 3 ideals are covered and if we remove the CCCP, the common worker may well get forgotten.

Never. The workers of our faction ARE its prosperity.

Although I know it doesn´t really matter: Let me say one´s more that Free Market leeds to selling green hills and blue mountains as toxic waste dumps.
(At least in SMAC)
So why are you even discussing it???
Planned Market is - if planned good - always better than money-faced FM!
PS: How can I join the CCCP? Did I already do so with posting that reply?

Not in SMAC. SMAC presents a rather idealized version of a completely unregulated market's effects on the environment.

The recent surge in far right thought in our political atmosphere has me quite concerned, with the creation of the Democratic Libertarian Party the hopes the left shares for Planet are now threatened. I am not a communist by any means, but myself and many other leftists share common ideals with the CCCP. I am here before you today to ask if it is worth bring back the Chiron Democratic Coalition to offset the DLP? We need to stand united against this common enemy or we will fail.

Voltaire- party politics are not what they once were. I'm not against your notion, but STEP and the CCCP are currently a "de facto" CDC. Anyone can express solidarity with our views with or without joining either or both parties. Whether or not we really need another acronym is up to everybody, but my vote is as non-hostile of a "nay" as humanly possible.

I do see your point, I’ve been our of the loop and the devolution of political parties since the start to me still remains much of a mystery given that I was away during that period. My concern simply lies in the right getting to powerful and pushing through a free market system. Your opinions are appreciated, and I do see your point about STEP’s and the CCCP, but I think the old left wind parties have been inactive for a long time now and there needs to be a return of them to counter the right influence.
