So, Chrisler, would you support me as Dir. of Explore/Intelligence?

I can't speak for Crisler, but you'd have my support. So far there's only one candidate besides yourself.

Are you guys willing to eliminate any faction that may be in those prime spots that everyone is so eager to grab? You want to get the rovers out there and moving, which is wonderful, but are you prepared to remove another faction if we run upon them? If you are then you better be prepared to delay production and some of the non military research if we happen upon Yang and his merry men or Santiago and her cheery crew. Hopefully we will land on a landmass far enough away from other factions, but there is always that chance that we won't.
Flexibility and Mobility should be given high priority so we can get out there and start getting map data. That way the third and fourth colonies can be prepared carefully. Of course as director of Peackeeping forces i would be more than happy to have military units support in exporation 100% until we meet up with another faction. I may not be from your coalition but at least I have not changed my views many times before mearly to be elected. A Vote for me is not a vote for the other party or coalition, but a vote for an independent thinker and a servent to the people.

The key here is to make sure our parties agenda can still go forward. I have spoken with both M@ni@c and TKG, both have very similiar ideas for the early game to our own thoughts. They are prepared to bend a bit in our direction for the support we need for the rapid expansion.
Lemmy, I feel that it is a very good idea for you to run for the position of Exploration/Intelligence. You will have 100% of my backing for that position. We need to make sure we hold it since it is vital to our plans.
Gentlemen of ACE, in the early rounds many share our ideas for rapid expansion. As such we are able to compromise a bit on various positions to get our people into some places. We can allows other coalitions to take a few positions because of this similiarity. Through basic political manuvering we are able to help them get their positions, use their similiar philosophies and maintian the early game plan we have already agreed to.
This elcection for First Commissioner has shown that NO single coalition has a clear majority. As such it is vital we be prepared to work with others to some degree to make sure we get the agenda we want. Voting strict party line by ANY coalition will result in the inability to effectively work within the goverment we are forming.

I have had a proposal brought to me that I am referring to this council. I was approached by a member of P4's leadership on the possibility of forming an early game coalition. Basically they would like to consider splitting the Cabinet positions between P4 and ACE. We would negotiate which positions each party would actuial take and then provide full backing to the candidate.
I feel this should be discussed, while not an ideal situation it is one that could lead to better outcomes in some of the upcoming elections.

i think that could work, only 2 positions need to be resolved
Director of Social Engineering and Director of Foreign Affairs

Lemmy: you got my vote. However, isn't Secret of HB 1 tech away for a certain faction IIRC?
Leland: No apoligies necessary, it's all good I agree with what you say.
Crisler: Your suggestion sounds good. Like I say, the more positions we fill early, the more influence we have on the games style. Saying that, I think the most important positions are definatly Director of Military (DirMil), DirSci, and DirBase. Do we have candidates who have given a vision for these yet?

I would like to add that P4 openly supports the candidates of ACE for the other directorates. We as moderates want to prevent the radical CCCP from gaining any director seats. A cooperation for ACE with the divisions of posts seemed in order. But although we support their candidacies and will vote for them, this does not mean we have entered any permanent coalition with ACE. For now we are looking only ahead for this one term. P4 wants to stress it keeps its independent status.

Well ACE? P4 has supported your canditates, it's up to you to provide the rest of the votes to get canditates from both P4 and ACE through. Let's just hope that when the independants votes come into play that they're skewed the same way as the voting block totals.

Well TKG, the fact that several independants confirmed with me through PM that they've voted for the P4 and ACE canditates (Thanks guy! Really helped my count! ^^ ) seems to indicate we won't have any worries with the non-affiliated citizen's vote. ^^

Alright ACE, I'd like some explations please. It was our understanding that, in return for your support for the directorates that you weren't contesting, that we'd support you in the directorates we weren't contesting. Now, we played our part, and you got in in all of those. You clearly haven't played yours, or those elections should have been won 18-14 (Or better, taking independants into account.) What went wrong?

Let's use D of T&C as an example. 11 us, 18 them.
Assuming no independants, it should've been 18-14. With the independant votes I know, if everyone voted, it should've been around 26-18. See the problem?

we people in the CDC actually have some freedom of will, and we still win most of the elections
granted, in most of the elections, i did vote for CDC people, but only if there wasn't any independents or better ACE representatives...
