The Legislature would also make it much easier to implement the Code of Laws as proposed here. The Code of Laws in this version would help keep the length of the Constitution low while allowing us to create detailed, more specific laws.

A BIT TOO SHORT?!
Panag, that's the POINT. It is SUPPOSED to be short.

"Size doesn't matter"
I don't see what's the point of having it be short? We need a constitution that can effectively cover all our problems as well as be flexible enough to meet future expansion.
Heck, Phoenetica's constitution is *huge* but is extremely thorough in showing how the government should be run. Our constitution is inherently weak, I agree, but it is getting stronger all the time as we ammend it.
Our goal though shouldn't be to make a "short constitution." Our goal should be to make something that will effectively guide this country. If we limit ourselves to being "short" (and who is to say what short is?) we will have lots of loopholes or absolute power.
Constitution of Apolytonia
Article I. Section I
There will be no more articles
Article I. Section II
I am supreme ruler. No questions about it.
Short enough for you?

Have way into a nations reign it cant just get up and change completely over a few little problems. I think we should just stick with the current government work our problems and get through a sticky situation. What is the point in going through all the debate of a new government over a few little problems.

It's too long because I get bored a third of the way into it. I was the person who, instead of just goofing off when bored in Civics, READ THE CONSTITUTION. If, after that, I say that it's too long and boring, then I'm right.

Just because it works there, doesn't mean it will work here.
I am involved in a similar situation at 1bigcommunity, which has just started a DG; we are reviewing Apolyton and CivFanatics DGs for starters, but we will modify to fit our needs there. I would encourage looking at Pheonetica's system, but modify it to fit our needs here; as well as considering things that apply here but not there, and the other way around as well.
I agree changes need to be made; GePap, skywalker, and Spiffor (among many others) have all made some good points and came up with some good suggestions. We just need to tweak them to what will work best for our DG.
