One question for native english sprekers:
Can somebody translate this to me?
Is it something how good player he is, and that he'll answer some questions, or what?

Hey dudes, I am back. With the coming of MP, I am gonna be here more often, as I need to keep up my reputation as best player in the world according to many people (I was voted best player in the world recently).
Anyway, if any of you wants to learn from my experiences, you are free to ask. Consider this an open strategy thread for multiplayer. I will answer questions as they come.
PS: If any of you doubt my skills look at this recent game from me on deity no less. I am ruling the AIs. Try to repeat this.

1337,
Regardless of your style of communication, your boasts irked me, so I had a look.
Are you kidding, or what??
Your city spacing is a mess. Your people are WAY unhappy and unproductive. Your best city is producing 66 shields on War Time footing. You've only got 4 luxuries... that you didn't plop a settler, or even a colony, on the incense is shameful. Why in god's name do you have all that forest so late in the game? And why is Oil Springs still working on an aqueduct? You got 2 GWs, whooppee!! For chrissake, you still have Spearmen and a Cat when you're on Tanks!!
Oh, and I noticed that America evidently slipped two cities into your early empire, within 4 tiles of your capitol.
What did you do, raze all the GW cities? The Aztecs still have an appr. 30% better score than you. And they're ahead of you on tech.
And this is on an almost-pangaea Tiny map with 3 AI civs.
Who voted you the best player... a kindergarten class?
Get ready for some schooling come MP... most everybody here and at CFC is gonna use you like Immortals do Spearmen.

ROTFL... seriously, I fell outta my chair. Thanks, man, I needed that!
I will give you credit, deity's a *****.
Why don;t you join in on some of the group games we've been playing; I've seen your commentary before, and some of its very good.
But PLEASE try to cut down on 1) the elite stuff, and 2) the attitude. Everyone (almost) here is pretty cool, and just wants to learn from / with each other.
And in MP... I think we'll all be surprised.

Hmm, if I even plan to play MP vs "elite dude guy" I'll need to first find the unversal translator.
On the other hand, having opponents which are as good diplomats as aliens could be an interesting chanllenge.

Its not about me. You probably could beat me. Yes he got lucky, but he did start on an iceberg and won the game by domination. Your game didn't start on an iceberg, and you are behind in tech, and behind in score with only 2 GW.

I have often found....no....strike that....I have always found that people who feel the need to point out their own greatness are either compensating for some deficiency or meglomaniacal. Just a quiet observation on an idle Sunday afternoon.
-=Vel=-
PS: You see, the fundamental difference between you and say, Aeson, is that he shared his game not to brag on his immense skill (which he has in spades, by the way), but rather, to teach others to rise to that level. IMO, the world needs more patient teachers and fewer "elites."

All true, all true.
I would add that a boast here or there is OK, but only when it can be backed up. For instance, Aeson's recent thread on GWs... not that he was really boasting, but I was blown away at his claim that he could build all the GWs (on monarch, I think). But there is doubt that he can... now that, my friends, is elite.

I have been staying away from this thread on purpose.
1337 is just a troll, trying to make fun of someone (or the strategy forum regulars in general) in his own little way. His word choice is too 'good' (in a standard literary sense) to be attributed to the mindless drones who actually do type this way on various boards and chat lines. A person can fake bad language skills, but it's pretty hard to fake good ones.
I know a guy who does a really good job at this type of thing. His choice of words, and variations on spellings is hillarious. Actually takes a lot of intellegence to do well.
Vel is right on as usual. All the postings here at the strategy forum are just people helping others understand the game better. 1337's parody doesn't apply. I do have some ego issues, but they don't have anything to do with computer gaming at least.

Actions do indeed speak louder than words. And the MOMENT we see some actual words in your posts, we might be inclined to take a bit of action!

Then why don't you, oh superior God of Civ3 and Apolyton, come down on earth to explain us, humble mortals, in a universally understandable language
we aren't all "iizway213374languagez", you know
why you feel too good to spare us from the waste of time and effort to comprehend what you are actually saying?
Seriously, why? ... Some serious reasoning please ...
Fair?
