Spamming your own website?!
tsk. tsk.
I would prefer MOM2 as I never played pirates.

I have MoM working with sound on my XP PRO system. What happens when you run it?

GameSpy: What about the future? I heard you tell the crowd you were excited about your deal with Infogrames and having access to all the Microprose legacy titles. Including your own stuff…
Sid Meier: Yes, we're looking at some of the older games and seeing what might look good.
GameSpy: Would that include your old stuff? Like Pirates, F-15 Strike Eagle, Gunship…
Sid Meier: … Silent Service, Red Storm Rising, Covert Ops. And we're looking at the other games as well.
GameSpy: Like Master of Magic and X-Com?
Sid Meier: Yes.

I would love to see Pirates! I've never seen or played MoM.
I've heard that the next big movie coming up from Spielberg will be about pirates, judging form the popularity of everything about WWII after "Saving Private Ryan" and especially games like the MoH series, it maybe easier to market Pirates to the masses. Although, the phantasy genre has and will be having it's ups with LOTR! That would've been my suggestion if I was to have a say about the which game.
So long....

My original thread that I created about a month ago was mainly about how X-COM was not just some rumor and actually had credibility.

Well unless one is privy to the contracts or the source makes a public declaration, it is rumor.

The original person who broke the story talked to Infogram marketing. No one believed him at the time though.

Hehe, it is begining to look like they were wise not to listen. I hope they were not....... I have lots of older games I would like redone or sequels to and if someone makes a few bucks on one that may encourage more.

Hey! I got it to work with sound, though no digital effects as they slow my system to a crawl! If anyone needs help getting MOM to work I can post a link the the forum (off Apolyton) that helped me out - I don't have it handy at the moment but I will track it down if someone needs it...
If anyone has MOM working on XP WITH digital effects AND their system isn't slowed please let me know...

I does not seem to impact either of my pc's. My mainone is an AMD 1900+ XP PRO. The back up is a Pent IV 1.7G running Win98SE. Not much slows either of these. I have had the P-IV since they came out. I put the AMD togethr to try XP last May. Both have 7200 RPM HD.
