Yes, I will be leaving for at least 1 week, if not 2 or more. Since I can't guarantee my return, it would not be fair to keep the position on hold and only have a temporary sub. I will retire at the end of next week. We will have case #1 rule don by then, so no worries.

I agree with DG. They will be filling in my spot, for the rest of the term. 2 months. After which they may be renominated for a full 3 month term.

Should I return and find myself less busy than I expect, I would be willing to be Judge again, if there is ever need. (I will be very busy teaching high school science...

so I hope none of you high school punks are in my school!

j/k - you guys would probably be fun to teach in class, civvers have a certain level of understanding and curiosity that would do credit to any student. there's something about the way they think...

But let me warn those aspirants who want my job, it's not as easy as you think! Hah! Think it's a cakewalk? Think again. When the cases come, it's a lot of correspondence, a lot of organizing, a lot of paying attention to details, a lot of looking up stuff buried on page 99, looking up a lot of terms to help interpret vague laws, getting feedback, listening to both sides of an argument with an open mind, biting your tongue when tempted to say something you shouldn't, being professional in your duties, trying to be impartial and leaving your personal feelings out of it. If anyone think that's easy, then they probably shouldn't be a Judge - they're delusional. It's less work than SMC when there's a war, but definitely more work than Sci Min.

But the reward? well, you get the satisfaction of knowing you helped this game, this community, be a more just one.

It was a long and brutal battle- and perhaps many will be left unsatisfied, but Lyton has won fair and square.

Well, now that the Apo, Danko, and Lyton are official, shall we move to design them?

Absolutely Gepap.
I think Ghengis' designs are pretty good :
the banana coin could be an Apo (because 1 Apo = 1 banana)
the eagle coin could be a Dankos (well, it's made of Iron, which is a symbol of our military prowess)
Shiber suggested we make the Lyton out of Siro's avatar, and it seems a good idea to me.

Now, GhengisFarb, do you accept we use your designs for the Apo, Dankos and Lyton ? If yes, could you please change the graphics to display "One Dankos" instead of "One Eaglot" ?

Hmm... just a thought... we could use imprint a War Chariot, our mighty UU, on one of the coins (except for the Apo, it should be reserved for the Banana).

Remember, these coins have two sides. So perhaps we could have the banana on one side (like Canada has the Queen on one side of all of our coins), and another symbol on the other. Or, each coin has individual images on both sides.

Apo - Banana; something
Dankos - Eagle, War Chariot
Lyton - Siro's avatar, a temple (someone suggested making the Lyton images representative of or non-military power, which I think is a good idea)

Well, that's my two Apos.

No! Enough with the fruitflies-ridden bananas!
It's okay to put it on one side of the Apo, but to put it on one side of every coin is like sticking a sign to your back that says "Hey, look at me! I have no creativity in me whatsoever!".

, true , but most nations today and in the past tend to keep one side the same , or at least in group , ...
1 , 2 , 3 , 5 cent have a strawberry , 5 , 10 , 20 , 50 , 75 cent a kiwi , 1 , 2 , 5 , 20 dollar a banana , stuff like that , ....

as for the creativity , well , it take all time , so we should invest more time in one side then the other , so that we have really something to show , and we can this way cut the workload a bit
