DarkCloud, next time please post an ad in the Spanish forum as well. We have some strong contenders in there. How long since your last post there?

This thread and Hall of Shame are still bloody useless. DarkCloud and the rest of you have just got me convinced about it. Is a HoS like this really a good way to have a good community spirit? This HoS is more fractionising the community than working as a uniting activity. Those who want to stick to this system of segregation may do that, but I'm going to avoid it as hell.
Down with this kind of oligarchy!

Since when has Apolyton tried to have a good community spirit?

Technically... it was a violation of site rules for him to post in the Civ III and Community Forum after posting in the OTF.

I did ask permission, you should note.

So... has the voting ended now, and what are the results if so?

I don't know about that- what if you all vote for each other?
Last post- sometime dos meses ago... All I could find were Civ II MP games going on... so I left.
Thank you ming.

Okay, just wondering so what is the consensus:
Post 1 in the OT, 1 in Community and 1 in Civ III
OR
1 in OT, 1 in spanish and 1 in Civ III
or something else?
[I suppose I shouldn't post in more than 3 places )
(I live to serve. )

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Such elitism H Tower.
Some of the Civ3 regulars have made ventures into OT. Some of them do a good job of it, unlike me.
DC, you should put a satellite thread in each major section of forums, in the busiest spa.. er focal points for discussion, like Civ3 General.

Many of the newer generation started in Civ3, and have since migrated. Civ3 Gen should be included definately.

Well, hopefully they'll vote for someone like korn456 or Snowfire (unless he's already in, I must check) someone who worked on The List for Civ III...
By December some of them should be worthy.
I already noticed that gramphos, civman2000 and possibly Trip for their Demogame work, civ III stuff and/or civ stories things do deserve entrance into the hall... Perhaps they'll manage to get elected if I post in the Civ III section as none of them are OTers.

Snowfire and Yin are in.
I'm still waiting for a CtPer to get in. Locutus almost made it this round.

Locutus failed last round as well... I don't think he has that good a chance
But korn isn't in, and he deserves to be in. I vote for him as much as I can...

Nobody remembers that thing. Hell, start a poll on the Civ III thread "Do you remember who Theben was and what his contributions to Apolyton included?" Then list a bunch of different options, like "He was one of the original three administrators, but quit two years ago" and "He used to moderate the Stories forum before splitting away and founding ACOL", and somewhere in the twenty or so options bury in "He worked on the Civ III List." See what the results are. (Use any Threadmaster you like, but Bell and Theben are the only ones I remember very well, not counting migrates like Snowfire and Yin of course.)
Give yourself ten bonus votes (or something) for being "the guy who championed the dubious prospect of an Apolyton hall of fame," and give the bonus votes to Korn. I doubt that anybody will really mind.

I could, but there would be outrage
Mostly held by whoever was bumped because of korn's votes
-
Yes, it's sad, the Civ III people hardly remember their elders.
I used to read the List for hours day upon day.
It was where I first heard of Imran, Theben, Bell, korn, yin, etc.
(I think even S. Kroeze had a few ideas )
-
I think Bell was still posting as late as Dec 2000... I seem to remeber one or 2 posts by him, but don't remember much else.
Thanks for reminding me about Theben.
If anyone deserves to be in the Hall- it's Theben!

So what were the results for those of us not visiting OTF on a regular basis?

DinoDoc
Sprayber
Sikander
In an unusual step, I decided to vote for Sikander rather than korn469 (who does great in the Civ III area) to show my appriciation for his excellent posts.
