Welcome to MrWhereItsAt's word of the week. That word is DAMN.
My computer has been having CDROM problems, which needed to be fixed before I could participate in this game. I saw no reason to worry here, as there was no further problem. However, it appears that when the shop attempted to fix this small niggle, they could not boot either of my copies of Windows, and the problem may be far more serious than just some incorrectly installed CDROM drives.
So, it is with very heavy heart I have to resign from this hotly contested race. Sorry guys, I don't know what to tell you. I was very much looking forward to being a Director, and I appreciate all the support (and difficult questions ) given so far. Hopefully my computer will be repaired within a week and I can return and at least join in as a talent here, building up to another campaign for government. I may post here occasionally (acces to the 'Net is MUCH reduced), but at a fraction of the time I dedicated to it beforehand.
Sorry again to any who are annoyed at this, but it really has annoyed me too.
'Til later.
MrWIA.

Bu.....but......Our vendetta aside, your the only one here that I would trust to become base production director. You can't leave. This is an atrocity.
Oh well....And ya had my vote, too, for a variety of reasons...Looks like I'll be abstaining in this election.
Isn't there some other way, like, use a friends computer or something?

I don't demonstrate enough of what, Tassadar? Time at Apolyton? Experience in Demo games? I'll appreciate input.

For a fellow party member, that's kind of a let down.

Lucky22, being a CCCP member doesnt necessarly involves all the CCCP members will vote for you. We dont use the same policy than the P4 on that.
DEspite that, you have my vote.

A question for remaining candidates:
If we are in a situation in which we start close to another faction that is rapidly expanding their borders(mainly the hive, but others have been known to do it), even to the extent of pushing OUR borders back, how do you propose to deal with that?
Will you change your priorities on border bases for defense purposes, or would you continue on your original expansion agenda? Or do you have other ideas?

Diablero: The parameters of the DBP position are somewhat limited regarding the situation you describe. I would, however, endorse production queues which engendered expansion and defense. Promote colony pod and military unit production until we were secure.

Diablero : It will mainly depend of our current situation. I will continue to prioritize fast expansion until there are no more room avalaible but will accept to reinforce our borders too ---> It will also depend of our current relations with the other faction.

Diablero - if the amount of terrain we could carve out peacefully was too small, expansion is necessary, unless we vote to stick it out as a minor player for some reason.
The priorities would be defense and OFFENSE. We need land, we have to take it! Thinking twice about the Hive, Spartans and Believers, a little war (perhaps to quickly kill the faction) sounds good to me. The other alternative is to get Doctrine: Flexibility and get to overseas land/sea colonies. These are all major decisions, however, and it is certainly not under the purview of a single Director to make the call without agreement from other Government officials and the popular vote.
And when are the elections? There is no sign of the redone election threads after the unfortunately invalid ones from before. If, IF they are a few days away, I may be back in action in time for them.

Thank you for your responses, candidates.
About the elections, is it possible that we get an e-mail when the real electrions start?

That "platform element" often causes frenzied reactions, though Pan. Is here the correct place to let the Peacekeeper constituency know that our ideology is not about letting cretinous thugs do whatever they want with your mother's underwear?

What you probably refer to as "the pigs of institutional control" use it as an affirmative. Civilians on radios, too. It's humor.

F.A.B.- I know that from "Thunderbirds" as a kid. I bet there's one in French I don't know, let alone England or Australia's English. I'm a little provincial, it seems.
