Call off the elections!!!
There are too many mistakes in the poll options! As we know from the commissioner election every vote counts. So please post a new poll for at least the elections where there are mistakes. If I'm correct, Energy & Industry, Exploration & Intelligence and Terraformation & Colonization are the only correct polls.

LSD nominations are correct (they've been from the start). Can't guarantee CDC candidates though (too many of them ).
Party leaders, verify the list above, please.

GeneralTacticus was running for Director of the Military, IIRC. Thanks for noticing DBTS.

Yes, I think it was EDP/CDC. I wondered why we don't have a candidate on D of PO.
PS. I wonder how UNN will report this. If it had been DE alone messing stuff up, I think Tass' tone'd be much different then the one he'll be using now.

Instead of "freshly elected and inexperienced Alpha Talent mixes elections up and questions his own competence", it'll be "stressed and overworked UNN editor makes a human error".

Another problem with the elections......people outside the game are able to vote. I wouldn't be suprised if there's already been some branch stacking in certain polls.

It's been an issue in all the Demo games before. IIRC there was no way to set who can vote. However, the vote lists *can* be checked, to see who voted who, by the admins (and in some civ3 Dg prez election, they checked for outsider votes since it was a very close call).

Really? I thought TKG sent a PM to MarkG some time ago to ask if it can be checked who voted for who. The answer was no.

As I recall, the Mods/Admins also said they couldn't edit Polls, but...WTF is that (Edit Poll (Mods/Admins Only)) link for then? I've admined on UBB's and vB's before, so it's not as if I don't know they can, because I've done it myself.
Vote lists though.....they don't exist as far as I'm aware.

I don't have time to check it right now (damn schoolwork ) but I do remember that it was done in the Civ3 DG. I *could* be wrong. Try looking for the threads about the presidential election where Trip was overthrown as president by Ninot; the result was 80 - 81 or something like that ( ).

Yeah. There was concern that members of both major coalitions brought in outsiders.
The final vote total was more than twice the number of ballots cast in any other election that term. Ninot's margin of victory was three votes, 73-76.

The reason no-one knew Juliennew was in the running for Director of Base Production is that his post was made really late in the nominations thread, at least a couple of days after I believe nominations were supposed to have ended (although a strict time was not posted). This is not tass' fault, more the case of party bureaucracies slowing down EVERYthing.
But, there is no real reason to exclude Juliennew and others from the elections, so we do have to start the erroneous ones again.
*sigh*

I have to agree with the others. The Polls do not match any of the final election matchups I was aware of. We need to remove those posts and start them over with the correct candidates listed.

What about the polls that were done right? (The Director of Industry and Energy poll is the only one that comes to mind.) Will they be redone?

Personally I would keep the three current correct elections: En&Ind, T&C and Ex&Int. But I confess I'm biased as I'm winning against Pandemoniak in my thread.
