What are PBEMs all about?
Seeing all this PBEMs here on the forum, I got interested in PBEM.
So can anybody explain to me what a PBEM-Game is exactly?

This "PBEM Guide" is a very handy document. Just my two cents, but creating a "Sticky" thread containing this and other helpful information would be a real help for PBEM newbies (download location for Xin Yu's lazyciv, Case's excellent article on sniffing out cheaters (1st issue of SLM), yaroslav's "PBEM Diplomacy utility, etc).
Who is the mod for this place?
